  1. I am sure they could throw Hader 2 innings today...but I am sure they really would prefer not to. Obviously.
  2. You either have the greatest ending in sports history or arguably the worst as millions of people watch 9 humans watch another human struggle to get around the bases for 10minutes with a serious medical injury. If he doesn't make it are 30ish guys going to pounce onto the field celebrating while the dude who beat you gets carted off? You basically win on a technicality. Of course odds are you could hop the bases on one leg....put jeez, that is going to be no better and not very fast either.
  3. Cause you are a huge La Vel Freeman fan.
  4. I am sure the Astros would do the same You know...I really wonder what would happen. You think all 9 guys would stare at a player cripple in pain and win that way? Even though the ball is over the fence and in all reality you lost? What if said player is screeching in pain trying to crawl around the bases inch by inch? I would think you would have to stand there and watch it as leaving the field would be like giving up. How would that be received after the fact whether they made it to home in the end or not? I wonder where the players would draw line line...if at all in such a situation. Normal homer yes...walk off maybe...postseason heck no? Those borderline worthless baseball writers should run with this story and ask some players, let them do so without giving their name for the article.
  5. That would be awesome. Best comparison that comes to mind there is Byron Leftwich getting carried down the field by his OL after he broke his shin but played through it. There was a softball player that tore an ACL on a HR...possibly a walk off even, can't recall. The other team helped her get around the bases.
  6. The first thing you said. I am sure he wants to make sure there will be no need for surgery as a long term thing. A 8 week timetable is pretty realistic and the Brewers are not going to rush him back. If we make the freakin' WS without him clearly we are doing just fine. Risking long term injury to our near 2-time MVP at that point would be foolish.
  7. As much as we have written off such occurrence just like last year we are doing the only thing to make it possible...a ridiculous win streak in September. Only way we could rebound from such a deficit in the standings in September. Hopefully it continues...2-3 back come Monday? It could happen.
  8. More the fact I found it funny he did something new, was terrible, and was like "yah, I am going to do it tomorrow too".
  9. The Cubs dynasty is all but dead. They have a few more years of their studs and will either have to pay them big bucks thus not being able to afford pitching or sacrifice some of them to buy pitching. It’s an impending disaster with not much in the farm and depending on a huge payroll/old vets to keep you afloat. They may continue to be a threat occasionally to the NL Central if they really want to sustain a massive $200mil+ payroll, but I don’t think they are going to dominate yearly any time soon again. It should be interesting to see what they do in the upcoming years.
  10. 4 back on Cardinals 3.5 back on Nationals 2nd WC tie currently Things could get real interest if we win 3/4 through this weekend and the Cards go 1/4. We also still have a sneaky chance at the 1st WC too.
  11. So he wears two jerseys and has a terrible game. Yup, let’s try again tomorrow. Try three or four next time.
  12. Isn’t the right field wall like 400 feet?!? I mean get real. Nope. 335 to the corner and where he hit it out 380ish would be the wall. 418 would be 40 feet past the wall. Considering it was a moonshot I don’t think that is very outlandish. Me watching it again and looking at the park dimensions I’d guess 440 area. 420 seems a bit conservative...but the technology probably isn’t as wrong as people make it out to be on those homers.
  13. Wouldn’t be shocked if they give him one. I predict they decline the option for Chase Anderson. It saves them about $7mil and it is pretty clear at this point they hate him. They banished him at the end of last year when he wasn’t that bad, didn’t give him a rotation spot this year, and much like last year simply don’t let him go more than like 4-5 innings no matter what. They don’t want him starting, but have no choice. Going into the winter they will either trade him or decline the option.
  14. Come on Braun where were your gummy bears before the game?! Bosch could have delivered on his bike!
  15. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when the Patriots people saw the AB news...I bet it was just stellar not BF.net allowable language.
  16. I will take the Vikings Prediction: Offense still doesn't get it going and our defense isn't as good as they looked week one, but still solid. 24-17 Vikings
  17. Okay in all seriousness: Yelich/Shaw/AAA 2B < Grisham/Moustakas/Hiura. If we could win with Yelich plus a few AAA hitters I think the other group can keep the offense going.
  18. Since he was only doing light running two days ago...probably, maybe a day or two. I would guess there is a very high preference to not actually use him at all though.
  19. It only allows him to drop if Rendon or someone else in the mix goes on an absolute tear. It is going to be real easy to forget about Yelich with all the excitement other players will provide. Yelich won it due to what he did over the last few weeks, really icing the cake when Game 163 fell their way.
