  1. Tyler Austin is the #5 hitter. This sounds like a promising day ahead!
  2. This isn’t must win (a loss yesterday would have made it that way in my opinion), but quite a turning point either way. Either down 2.0 games...suddenly right there in the thick of it...or still 4 out on the verge of our season being over. At some point you have to gain games...stellar opportunity here.
  3. The run blocking is becoming a bit concerning to me. Second game in a row they were getting stuffed left and right. This is USF and Central Michigan...can you imagine Big Ten opponents? It’s easy to cover up when those teams can’t consistently stop you and your passing game is able to pick up the slack on long downs. 2nd or 3rd and Long are going to be killer against better competition. Coan ain’t going to make those teams look silly all the time and those teams are going to have their A-game more consistently. That has to get better. If we start needing to trust Coan to make 10+ yard throws all the time against good teams the offense is likely going to struggle.
  4. Not even remotely close. I think that race is over unless Yelich goes nuts and carries us to the postseason. And probably not even then.
  5. Since we had a nice throwback to Derrick Frost in the IGT. 2008 Derrick Frost - 8 punts inside the 20 Week 1 JK Scott - 5 punts inside the 20
  6. I think next year is really important for him. He built an absolute atrocity of a pitching staff. One can give him a free pass this yearif they want for giving young guys a chance (I don’t think that is a valid excuse...too each their own). I have said many times there is zero reason all those young guys had to start from Day 1 to get a big chance this year...none. Stearns felt the need to and it was laughably bad. But next year? All on him, no excuses building another horrible pitching staff.
  7. How can anyone seriously blame Counsell for bullpen management? The pen is complete garbage....just terrible. We really going to blame him for pulling Anderson when Anderson greatly struggles a third time through the order? Another inning of Anderson likely just as bad...at least the bullpen guy is a change of pace. I would have kept Anderson in and prayed, but then again it doesn't matter what he does...he has to pray a subpar pitcher can get outs. Counsell was handed a garbage can to use as a bullpen, shockingly most that comes out of it stinks. Shocker.
  8. I don't see an injury history that is going to scare teams off. Assuming he does okay through the end of the season, someone will give him at least a 2 year-$10M deal. Chacin got a 2 year $15.5M deal. After 32 starts of good baseball. He also had a track record of being fairly competent for quite a few years at one point prior to that year. He has never thrown more than 140 or so innings and the few times he did were a complete disaster. He has no track record. He could get 2 years....but it is a push. He would have to have a team really believe in the good he did this year even though the supporting stats don't like it (high 4 FIP). His success looks luck based. For example his H/9 is 10 over his career and is currently sporting a ridiculous 6.3 H/9 right now for us. Considering he gives up homers at a decent clip that H/9 being realistic would skyrocket his ERA alone. It goes far past that too, he isn't Clayton Kershaw.
  9. Trubisky has thrown 40+ passes in a game 4 times...he has lost 100% of them. They weren't good performances either. That was a pretty confusing game plan to be honest by the Bears.
  10. Yes it was. And I'm normally bored by low scoring games. Probably the fact the Packers defense has been awful for years. For them to actually have a great game...total rarity. I think the defense played really well upfront and in the air...LBs left a bit to be desired. This defense could actually be fun to watch. Something that hasn’t existed since the last Super Bowl timeframe. The Packers really made it difficult on the Bears (who I think have a decent offense). The offense was a bit concerning...but that was one heck of a defense they faced.
  11. That was really pleasing...real pleasing
  12. That was insane. I loved drafting him...glad it seems to be working out so far.
  13. Gained 5 yards on first down and go for a throw? Yah...not sure I agree there. Maybe third down if you want to gamble if you get stuffed on 2nd down.
  14. Got any lottery numbers for me? LOL *mic drop
  15. Just waiting for the classic INT
  16. Haha I doubt it...just no way.
  17. Lol challenge
  18. 5 Minutes left...they've scored 3 points all game. You have to make it a 7 point lead the way your defense has played. I don’t think you have to run it at a defense that has stuffed you all game. Which would have set up a long field goal. I don’t mind playing it safe, but they were working their way back.
  19. He was going to, looked like Adams was about to get a bomb until he got severely hooked...ruined the timing. Then got sacked, I don’t see a problem in that situation.
  20. Is Mike back calling plays again? Settling for a FG opportunity?
  21. I mean think about it. Last year they ended their season in the playoffs double doinking a field goal. You have been a giant meme/joke all off season. You then get to host the opening game and arguably the biggest on your schedule. All this suspense built up to watch your offense literally do nothing and self destruct twice...even creating a 3 and 40 late in the game. To be honest any stadium is booing at the point...even without all the backstory. Your team is playing like crap with three points in the 4th Q.
  22. Yeah, the boos surprised me. Harsh. When your entire existence in recent memory is horrible teams or embarrassment...your patience is likely thin for anything.
  23. Any non move at the deadline was brilliant. This team sucks and even in the postseason ain’t going to win it all.

  25. This is the second huge drive the Bears have imploded on.
