Can y’all stop with the constant Counsell bickering about what people said or would have said after certain situations? It’s like game 156. We get it, we know what people are going to say...it’s not changing. We all have different opinions on different management decisions. 3 innings later in a big spot...let’s talk about something else.

This is simply the greatest thing all year. The guy everyone hates and wants slingshotted into oblivion is starting the biggest regular season game of the year. I love baseball.

According to Business Insider ratings the last three years: 1) 17.9mil 2) 16.5mil 3) 14.8mil That is some big declines and this new tackle rule is almost sure to send it farther down. Advertising on the other hand: 1) $3.5bil 2) $3.8bil 3) $4.2bil The declines are even worse for premier viewership games. A further sign people would rather watch/do other things. The garbage time Sunday day games fare better versus the last because really nothing else is on. I would be all over college football if they expanded the college football playoff where Wisconsin could realistically make is occasionally. Instead it’s nearly impossible and you get dumb bowl game for all your hard work, no shot to win it all.

I’m feeling pretty good regardless. The Cardinals might play the Cubs, but we will play a team that hasn’t had anything to play for all year. Safe bet we win 2/3 at least...don’t think the Cardinals can sweep the Cubs whether they have anything to play for or not. -
I think the Brewers are doing a little Wild Card game practice tomorrow. Bullpen game...against cardinals...coincidence? I think not.

Right. Matthews just tackled him straight down. Payne had to intentionally spin him, throw him down hard, and then landed on him. That tackle probably gets a penalty under the old system since he threw him down and his head seemed to hit the ground before his body (not bad, but excessive). I kept hearing the announcers say, “His helmet is as his shoulder pads, too close to the head.” They are all roughly the same height! How do you get your helmet lower than his shoulders?! I mean come on.

Colorado Rockies in a must win situation today it feels like. They would drop to 2.5 back in the WC race today with a loss. The same likely in their divisional race as the Dodgers are up early on a garbage Padres team. Our magic number sits at 4 before the Rockies game. -
It would be so easy to act it out to be worse than it is for a QB. If they don't retract these new tackle rules people are going to stop watching. In three weeks: 1) Packers almost lost because of one of these trash calls 2) Got robbed of a win because of one of these calls 3) Might help put the early dagger into them today because of a trash call

What is Matthews suppose to do? Slow down to not hit him so hard and he can get away from him or throw it away? Do you just go hug him until they call it dead? Stupid rule and its ruining games. IT SUCKS. I wish McCarthy would have gotten ejected. Someone needs to make a statement about this. It has to stop.

Empty the pen for the win. Win today and it is almost impossible for the Cardinals to catch us for the WC. One win versus them this week would require them to sweep this weekend just to tie us if we were to only win one against the Tigers. Unlikely that happens.

Someone explain how that was not a flag on that sack? He swung him down onto his head and landed right on him. NFL is a joke, no consistency. That was 15x worse than the Matthews one or the one called on MIN last week.

I agree. Shaw and Moose are fairly even as players. I'd probably argue Shaw slightly better but maybe Moose's D makes up for it. One will be very cheap for a few more years, the other 15+ mil for several years. I think it is rather irrelevant because we aren't going to trade Shaw for a TOR arm. What team wants Shaw, but not their TOR arm? Just not very logical on paper and these type of trades just don't happen. Id prefer to keep Shaw and not keep Moustakas really. We have prospects to get the TOR guy if we want.

Come on refs...how is that called a TD? No duh he is going to have the ball across half a year later when you run up to the line. What a fail...he obviously fell notably short. Impossible to overturn too.
