  1. We are four games back, we would only need to gain one more game between now and the last weekend to still be in the running( we sweep, they get swept). We would only need to gain two games between now and then to have a more realistic shot (us go 3-0, they go 1-2). Do I expect us to win the division or force a tiebreaker? NO! However I could find a lot of crazier endings than that...gaining 4 games in 3.5 weeks isn't even that crazy. I will mostly focus on the WC that we are sitting pretty nicely in.
  2. Dodgers and Rockies have to play each other...a Milwaukee Brewers dream. Arizona also has to go play a really good Atlanta team. Win our next two series and we likely have punched our ticket barring a massive collapse after that. The divisional race is alive and well. I think any scenario really requires us to go on a dominating stretch where we sweep someone. Cubs split with Washington and loss series to us (while we win series vs. Giants) puts us at 2.5 games back. Not terrible, but obviously that's only shrinking so fast. Bottom line, we need a sweep somewhere. We aren't going to win the division winning 2-1 series. The Cubs aren't going to be bad enough to lose all their series to let us catch up.
  3. Haha same old stuff by Counsell. Insists on playing match-up with Jennings, fails, and leaves him in for the righty. You can’t make this stuff up.
  4. Arcia’s season full of suck is going to be forgotten real quick after a grand slam right here.
  5. Man people throwing in the towel and it is the 4th inning. Yikes. You
  6. The Cousins addition is overrated. It isn’t like they didn’t get good QB production last year, they did. Statistically he isn’t an improvement at all. They hope Cousins will have that special edge and make clutch plays...be a true leader. I don’t think he is, I think he is similar to an Alex Smith. Not a big moment/time guy. That being said the Viking are way better than any other team Cousins lead. Regardless they will win on their defense. Not Cousins lighting up a scoreboard.
  7. Yah the entire secondary market will be bought up by Cubs fans. They would make the NLDS tickets cost hundreds minimum, no thanks on my end...theirs? Shrug of the shoulder.
  8. You're probably right and that makes it sound much harder to get them IMO. The SSH will buy up a lot of those just to resell. Depends, they didn't do it last year. There may be more interest in a September that is an upward trend vs. downward. There has to be leftover tickets for the general public because we don't have that many season seat holders...nor do all of them have the funds to buy 8 tickets or want to resell. No lottery makes it easier in my opinion. If you want them that bad and are logged in at start time there will be thousands I am sure to get. I have done so many things that were in high demand and had a online start time. Not one time has said item/event been sold out. If you are there from the get-go the supply usually lasts a few minutes.
  9. Just to make it clear, there was no lottery last year. This is what they did. I think it would be quite likely to happen again this way, but who knows...only the Brewers. We will know in a few weeks for sure. https://brewers.mlblogs.com/brewers-announce-single-game-postseason-ticket-sales-details-c2bc44b6e2
  10. They did it last year and I don't recall it being difficult to obtain NLDS tickets as a general public fan. There were tickets at all levels. That being said I think I also recall our postseason chances were dwindling quickly by then. They do it by round though...so after the NLDS I imagine it might getting harder and harder to get them. There was no lottery, simply a time the ticket sales opened. Last year I believe I got Terrace level for about $50 each. The fact we have to play the WC game first (in all likelihood) will lessen the demand to get them right away. If we make it there the game will be 99% Cubs fans because we are sellouts (half serious). When tickets cost $60 and you can turn around and sell them for hundreds to Cubs fans......
  11. Quintana has pitched amazing against us and Chacin has had two stellar starts vs. the Cubs this year. Great matchup, screams pitchers duel, 7-5 Cubs. Half predicting a loss because too much excitement asking for disappointment dreaming of a sweep.
  12. Chase at Wrigley doesn't sound like fun. I remember him pitching stellar the game I went to there and has been great the other two games against the Cubs this year.
  13. CC Sabathia: 14-3, 7 2/3 innings per start Wade Miley: 8-4, 5 1/3 innings per start Not even in the same universe of impact.
  14. Well if they split at Washington and then we win 2/3 again that put us at 2.5 games back. If we assume they lose on one of our off days coming up that puts it at 2 games back with quite a few left outside of that. If we play really well, which isn't hard to believe with our schedule, we could chase them down even if they don't have a major falter. That being said winning today would make things way better. If not we have a ton of pressure to play elite baseball the rest of the season.
  15. He went from averaging about 30 walks a year, to 54 walks last year, to 65 this year! Insane change and the season isn't even close to over.
  16. This is it fellas. We are in the divisional race regardless, but a win today can really get the Cubs nervous.
  17. I don’t remember specifically when this was started, but you can’t make a conclusion after a few games. Anyone can look effective for a few starts...heck even half a year and then turn into a pumpkin.
