No, Chacin loading the bases blew it. Coming in with the bases loaded is pretty much a recipe for disaster. If he gets three outs with only that single are you really blaming Jennings?

Colorado Sky Sox now lead their division after a 7 game winning streak!!! Wouldn’t be shocked if Corey Ray and Keston Hiura get mini promotions to fill out a potential postseason roster. They may not want to do that to their AA affiliate though.

H2H games are one game swings. .5 game for the win and .5 game for the other team losing. That being said a 3 game sweep is a 3 game swing. That’s how you catch up. 2-1 series wins are nice vs. who is ahead of you, but in reality only gaining a game after 3 games is not that great. Especially come the second half of September.

I just don’t see the urgency to call someone else up. As long as Chacin can go six innings it is a non issue. Jeffress can pitch today, no reason he can’t. Albers, Jennings, Williams, and Soria also can definitely pitch pitch. Even if Chacin only goes 5 it is hardly a huge issue. I’d rather just pitch my less than stellar pitchers for a few days vs. losing someone for a week plus. We still get two solid guys in Soria/Jeffress today.

Problem is you have to keep them down for 10 days. That would be a very unwise decision with no one really worthwhile in the minors. Even if you can do it September 1st...still way too many days to be out those guys. The Pirates burned their pen too, which helps.

The maricle last night put us 1 game over the Rockies, 2 over the Phillies, and 3.5 over the Dodgers. Time to go on a run and put some of these teams in a nice hole come September. The Rockies magic number to be eliminated in 33. -
With a lead I’d think something aggressive in nature like this is likely.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this the morning after. I got all excited when there were making some noise in the 15th, but after Braun struck out for the second out I was like, “Of course Jordan Lyles is coming up.” Then he walked...but of course Eric Kratz and Orlando Arcia are coming up. Quite possibly two of the last people you would want in that situation. And of course both get hits. I swear if Arcia wouldn’t have ended it there I don’t know what I would have done. It was like our entire season was wrapped up into one game. A frustrating ball of Brewers. It’s like they have to test your inner patience every time.

What a waste of my time. I hope the Brewers miss the postseason so I can complain about Stearns all winter.

I feel like after about 12 innings I wouldn’t complain if they installed the MiLB rule. At that point it is almost like both teams are fighting to not kill their pens AND lose the game. I feel like winning isn’t even a win at this point. The worst is when you go play a different team the next day...it’s bad.

Probably, but they would probably burn Lyles for three innings at least before doing that. Counsell is determined to keep them all in order and not mess with that.

Rock, Lyles is going to go awhile BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE IS LEFT!! What else are we suppose to do?! Oh...we could score a run, that would help.

What are we going to do? Play another 3 innings? We have one trash pitcher left to use. If we can’t score in the next inning or two...we aren’t going to win. OR a freakin’ positional player is going to go pitch at which point what matters anymore.
