    Look I get Braun is new at 1B and we are going to be happy any time he doesn’t get an error, but there was nothing nice about that on his end. If he doesn’t make that play 10/10 times I’m going to be pretty upset.

    Like usual I would guess. This isn’t some unprecedented happening. There was legitimate risk to turn down the QO and he knew that. It isn’t shocking he could not find a multi year deal. The worst possible scenario happened and he still got $14mil for one year.

    You could argue this just made them worse...he was horrendous in the 2nd half. If that continues, great for us. Regardless his days as a really good closer may be gone and an okay relieve doesn’t add much value.

    I thought the same. We hate Oliver Drake, but let’s get excited about a guy who doesn’t strikeout many and likes to walk many. Yay? He will be a last guy in the pen at best. I guess maybe you can hope to catch lightning in a bottle(over perform drastically by luck). Oliver Drake has more upside in my opinion and is better. Though I feel better with Jennings putting up better stats.

    The NFL finally made it so an amazing extra point attempt isn’t required after a game winning TD. How it took this long just blows my mind. I though it would get ousted real quick after the Fail Mary.

    Now please dump Oliver Drake so people can stop posting about how much he sucks and needs to be replaced. The world will be a better place if it happens.

    Wonder if it’s speculation or he’s heard something. Wording says speculation. But obviously they haven’t decided on many players yet so something has to drop.

    Brewers are doing a theme night for The Sandlot. Which I don’t know why they didn’t just announce as part of their viral video. Made a little too much sense.

    Lol, Packers win a playoff game. Odds would heavily favor that. Make it make the Super Bowl and maybe it’s a little more realistic to pick one of the other two.

    But then he also said Braun would play some RF towards the end of ST. I’d guess it would be in a very very unpreferred situation just because they were pretty adamant when they said no Braun in RF. His RF defense was tragic. Domingo Santana would have to underperform quite badly to push him out of that spot. If Braun is mashing I bet he steals Thames ABs vs. Santana ABs.

    Ryan Braun is going to play zero RF. Counsell already stated that.

    It isn’t saving or costing a team anything directly. It definitely is costing the player though as having that money today is way more valuable than having it 5 years from now. Though I am sure this is taken into consideration if they are looking for the best deal possible.

    Eric Thames isn’t going anywhere. He is a huge lefty power bat and is not expensive at all. If they were confident enough in Braun to play there everyday and Braun wasn’t made of glass, maybe. As it stands trading Thames makes little sense. Dump Aguilar or Choi. Who cares which one, whoever it is will be gone in a few weeks. We are only paying Thames $6mil.

    There is nothing wrong with asking for a positive reference and is becoming quite common these days. Obviously some people are going to like your work and some not. You could be 1/20 people that don’t like there work, but maybe like them as a person. They are trying to land a job and they want people that will speak highly of them. I think you are being way too critical if you are getting bent out of shape over him saying “positive”. Though really you should be able to realize if someone is going to be a good reference of not.

    No, they refused to ever consider it before now. I can check, but we had some awful 1B in the past few years. Many times we went into the offseason with nothing and could have easily moved Braun to first and got an OF in FA or trade instead. Which would have been better for the offense no doubt. Maybe even defensively.
