  1. Chris Sale in 2010 out of the bullpen threw 392 pitches in 23.1 innings. Josh Hader this year has thrown 402 pitches in 22.1 innings. Josh Hader has a .81 ERA versus Sale having a 1.93 ERA in 2010. I kinda wish this argument for Hader to go to the rotation would include more than Randy Johnson and Chris Sale. Arguably one of the best ever and arguably the best of the current generation. Reminds me of Clancy grasping at major exception examples for soft tossing Brent Suter to be great. Not saying Josh Hader can't be a great rotation asset, but where are the more "realistic" comparisons?
  2. Haha no he should do what people did with his jersey after he got caught. Go from "BrauN" to "FrauD". I'd get a good laugh out of that.
  3. We are quickly approaching the top half of the 2018 draft.
  4. Sorry you took that as all. I was referring the majority of players. Obviously supply vs. demand is a component. Guys we would target(Kinsler) aren't that great. Bigger point was you can use this trade as an example or a way to judge Stearns.
  5. Shuckers win fourth-straight on DeMuth's 11th inning walk-off double The Shuckers have won four straight and nine of their last ten By Biloxi Shuckers Shuckers players run out to Dustin DeMuth after his walk-off double in the 11th inning (Hunter Reed) Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: BILOXI, MS - At 11:57 pm on Thursday night, Dustin DeMuth smacked his second double of the night down the left to bring Clint Coulter home from first base and give the Biloxi Shuckers a 3-2 walk-off win over the Tennessee Smokies in 11 innings. Playing their first baseball since Sunday, the Shuckers won their fourth in a row and ninth in their last ten tries. Biloxi remains one game back of the Mobile BayBears, in second place, in the Southern League South Division. The series opener was tabbed as the MiLB Duel of the Day by MiLB.com and Corbin Burnes and Adbert Alzolay didn't disappoint. Burnes was solid once again, overcoming two early runs to complete 5.0 innings. The righty allowed the two runs, one earned, and struck out six over the course of his outing. -By: Biloxi Shuckers
  6. I intentionally made it about you wanting Jay Bruce because unless you are in the Brewers front office you have absolutely no clue who they are attempting to acquire and what for. You don't know who is available and for what. There are no trade clauses that could make a Lewis Brinson and Josh Hader for Ian Kinsler trade not work. Also do you realize why guys aren't expensive? Partially their contracts, but they also usually aren't very good. So the odds anyone we acquire actually makes a difference is pretty darn minimal.
  7. A good size group of scouts to watch the Rattlers play the D-Backs A ball team.
  8. The problem is we don't know if it matters. Nothing would have matter going into the season or so we thought. Anyone see that winning streak before the break? Anyone expect us to play this bad after the break? Anyone expect the pitching to be this good? There are only 46 games left in the schedule. One hot streak/cold streak can make or break your season. Are will willing to dump money and minimal prospects to see if someone can help? That is the question.
  9. Couples thoughts: Everyone ranks very differently on her and weigh things to different amounts. Production is important, but there is also potential you can quantify in current/past statistics. Adding onto that it is very interesting to see the different ways people decide to ranks guys and see how that fares over the long run. Very rarely do we see list that are very similar. Once you get past the Top 10 the differences can be pretty substantial.
  10. Hey Keith I saw our post was deleted(for obvious reasons). Would you care to enlighten me on why Jean Segura's situation is a horrible comparison. I take it you don't think Villar has potential and will never turn it around correct? The Jean Segura comparison is actually a pretty good one. Jean Segura had a .5 good year then played sub par for years. Jonathan Villar had an entire good year and now is playing subpar. Rick seemingly was taking a shot at the "Villar has potential" comment. In my opinion to think the potential isn't there is premature when he just proved it over an entire season. You mentioned Jean Segura's last two years, but not sure why that is relevant. That is the portion of the comparison(to Segura) that very well may still come true. I was not comparing Jonathan Villar to 2012-2017 Segura. I was comparing him to 2012-2015 Segura. Why can't Villar rebound and be a good player again like so many?
  11. Yah Sogard, De Jesus, and Cooper trio in the infield would be pretty intense...ly garbage. But hey...AAA stats. I really don't have a problem dumping Sogard for Ivan because I am betting they would be a wash. I also bet you had the same attitude about Jean Segura too. Gosh that guy just didn't have potential! Villar showed that potential last year. Sorry if you want to disregard that for journeyman Ivan DeJesus Jr. playing well in Colorado.
  12. If one doesn't believe the Brewers have a chance at the postseason Villar is the obvious choice. However since we are still in it every AB matters so that is why Sogard/Perez are still trotted out there despite their non existent ceilings.
  13. If the proposal from the Brewers was actually that the thing would be labeled as "Under Construction". Why would the city not accept a deal that only requires them to pay basically what they will get in direct revenue? They would be losing absolutely nothing and only could potentially gain from such a deal. Pretty sure that is what the city wants not the Brewers. The Brewers likely want the deal that requires the team to only pay $20mil. That is more in line it's past stadium deals for ST. I think it is a long shot to pay all of it, but they did drop the cost of the stadium after not getting taxpayer money so maybe their is legit motivation. I like the complex plan so I hope it happens.
  14. Going off your point DHonks in the lengthy economic report done on the Gilbert proposal it mentioned Gilbert needed more field in the future anyway. This complex could provide those fields saving them approx. $8mil(can't remember specifics). This helps the city past obvious revenue streams.
  15. Where was Jay Bruce going to play?
  16. Rock bottom probably isn't 1.5 games out of first place. As terrible as we have been the Cubs really aren't really taking advantage.
  17. First half we had this magical offense that could hang with the best...unfortunately pretty much every player with "caution, regression possible" not only regressed, but went right through the basement to the core of the earth.
  18. Jake Gatewood could probably have walked to Biloxi and had time to spare before his first game.
  19. Better dump Zach Davies and Brent Suter and anyone else in existence. Everyone has bad games.
  20. The D Backs are not approving a AAA team that close to them. Why? They have absolutely zero reason to do so.
  21. Matt Garza wouldn't be a good depth piece because (as mentioned above) we can't send him down. I think he is pretty destined for another team regardless at this point unless he pitches really well down the stretch and they want to give him a rotation spot. I'd rather continue with Brandon Woodruff over him. Maybe he can be traded for someone that can be optioned.
  22. It's not necessary to even comment if all you are going to do is hate on him when he does good and then come and post like it proves your point when he does bad. Your not proving anyone wrong if he starts pitching terribly after everyone says he has surplus value. Obviously he won't if he starts sucking, shocker.
  23. Not dead, but has breathing tubes in a lifelong coma. Not only do we have to pay for it, but guess what that also means we have to pay for future improvements. The Cubs have it written in their deal that the city must keep it up to date. Sounds pretty terrible for the Brewers. They could probably do better elsewhere. Gilbert doesn't want to make any investment outside of the direct revenue money they get from it, lame. Not my money, but I doubt Attanasio will pay for it.
