  1. Choice's eighth inning blast gives Shuckers comeback win over Wahoos Dustin DeMuth, Michael Choice and Clint Coulter hit homers on Wednesday By Biloxi Shuckers Michael Choice launched a 444 foot home run in the eighth inning on Wednesday to put the Shuckers on top 5-4. (Hunter Reed) Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: One day after only mustering two hits the offense busted out behind three homeruns. Down by one run Michael Choice hit a go ahead two run bomb and Clint Coulter immediately followed him for an insurance run. Taylor Williams started the game for the Shuckers going 3.1 innings and giving up a pair of runs. Despite the two runs he only gave up one hit while striking out 6 batters. All in all it was a 6-4 win for the Shuckers. Pitching Summary: On the mound, Taylor Williams (3.1 IP, H, 2 ER, BB,6 K) started the game while Josh Uhen (2.2 IP, 2 H, ER, 3 K, HR), Jorge Lopez (2.0 IP, 1 H, ER, 2 BB, 4 K), and Matt Ramsey (1.0 IP, H) provided the relief. Hitting Summary: Clint Coulter (1-4, RBI, R, HR) Michael Choice (2-4, 2 RBI, HR) Dustin DeMuth (3-4, 2 RBI, R, 2B, HR) Biloxi Shuckers Game Log Pair of homers lead comeback win. With Jacob Nottingham batting, wild pitch by Domingo Tapia, Blake Allemand to 2nd. Jacob Nottingham strikes out swinging. Michael Choice homers (4) on a fly ball to left center field. Blake Allemand scores. Clint Coulter homers (9) on a fly ball to left field. Dustin DeMuth singles on a line drive to right fielder Aristides Aquino. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-hitter Wendell Rijo replaces Jorge Lopez. Wendell Rijo strikes out swinging. Javier Betancourt flies out to center fielder Gabriel Guerrero.
  2. I have met more people that elect to just sit right next to me(or group) than that kick me out. Actually I have never been asked to leave seats by the people who have them. I don't commonly sit in people's seats and when I do it is NOT on the field level. It is the terrace or in the bleachers. I also avoid the first couple rows to be virtuous to people who spend money to get them. I usually sit in the same section I have tickets for. Calm down these people will frequent the terrace. Let's not have a cow over $8 ticket sections. There is plenty of room for everyone to have a good view of the field.
  3. On second thought I would LOVE to bring him back to play second fiddle to Pina. Take that into FA Luc.
  4. Feels like just yesterday many wanted Hughes gone. Patience with bullpen arms works sometimes it seems.
  5. Well it's more the people that think he sucks. The other day someone said our rotation was a joke outside of Nelson/Anderson. No, Garza has been completely serviceable this year and is definitely a legitimate starter deserving to be in a rotation. Dude isn't pitching like Jeff Suppan. Not liking to watch players is fine. I remember people hating Gallardo post 2011 because of how many pitches he threw etc.
  6. Matt Garza has been a solid starter this year. The guy gets more hate than Zach Davies who has maybe 5 decent starts all year or Junior Guerra who has been a dumpster fire all year.
  7. Well when a college bat goes and hits at low-rookie ball mostly filled with recent high school graduates I am not sure it means all that much. Corey Ray immediately went to High-A ball. Hiura is a beast though. Best bat speed by a Brewers' prospect since Rickie Weeks. Don't think it will take him too long to be ready. Which is good because Villar is still completely lost.
  8. No, you are comparing a guy who is a starter and comparing him to a bench player. Hernan Perez can afford cold streaks because it only last a 10 day span. Bandy can't because an extended cold streak for him ends up being 25% of the season real quick. It also plummets your stats to pathetic ranges real quick. If you are a bench bat you can't be worthless for 40 ABs straight.
  9. He is rehabbing the injury. He just started actually throwing when he went to Arizona. I'm not sure the process of an offensive player coming back from the injury he had or how long it takes. Also not sure who exactly he works with down there. At this point he is probably just throwing the ball and not practicing in the field. The only reason I know he is throwing is because Hiura mentioned it on his Twitter so might be able to check there for later updates.
  10. No. He isn't on the 40 man roster and would hit an innings limit only making him useful for the bullpen which would almost surely not happen till September making him ineligible for postseason ball. Seems rather pointless. He has been good, but unless they commit before September seems like a stretch.
  11. He is only in Arizona to work on his arm. He will definitely skip Helena and will likely skip Wisconsin if he stays in Arizona all 2017. I am not sure how long he is supposed to work on his arm in Arizona.
  12. Shuckers drop opener to Blue Wahoos in front of sellout crowd Sellout crowd of 6,098 is largest of 2017 and ties for second-largest in MGM Park history By Biloxi Shuckers Aaron Wilkerson picked up five strikeouts on Tuesday, placing him fourth in the Southern League with 93 on the season. (Hunter Reed) Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: Bad day at the office for the Biloxi Shuckers. Aaron Wilkerson had a decent outing going 7 innings giving up 4 runs, but it didn't really matter when the entire offense could only collect 2 hits. Michael Choice had the big offensive day getting a double while Johnny Davis was the other Shucker to collect a hit. Pitching Summary: On the mound, Aaron Wilkerson (7.0 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) started the game while Travis Hissong (2.0 IP, 2K) provided the relief. Hitting Summary: Michael Choice (1-3, 2B) Johnny Davis (1-4) Blake Allemand (BB) Biloxi Shuckers Game Log Shuckers lone hit Biloxi Bottom of the 7th Angel Ortega strikes out swinging. Michael Reed walks. Michael Choice doubles (9) on a line drive to center fielder Gabriel Guerrero. Michael Reed to 3rd. Dustin DeMuth flies out to center fielder Gabriel Guerrero. Gabriel Noriega grounds out, third baseman Nick Senzel to first baseman Gavin LaValley.
  13. I haven't seen it yet, but Stearns is always looking to improve the team and make deals. He has a team looking likely to be in first place come the All Star break. He is going to try and make improvements like anyone else would.
  14. How could one possibly know we won't have the WC to fall back on?
  15. HR Derby rosters already decided, but no you don't have to be an All Star.
  16. And the Cardinals blew a 2-0 lead in the 6th to be down 5-2.
  17. Orlando Arcia having an OPS near .800 seems like quite the wishful thinking. If that is why you are antsy to extend him you better wait.
  18. Betancourt's 12th inning triple lifts Shuckers over Barons in series finale Corbin Burnes tossed six shutout innings lowering season ERA to 1.13 By Biloxi Shuckers Javier Betancourt smacked a two-run triple in the 12th inning on Monday night in Birmingham (Mark P Driscoll) Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: Corbin Burnes, like usual, was absolutely dominant through six scoreless innings. Burnes only needed 84 pitches to get the job done while striking out five batters and walking none. It was a quiet day for the offense, but thanks to a dominant bullpen they got a chance to break through scoring three runs in the top of the 12th to win 4-1. Javier Betancourt was the only player to collect multiple hits and was a key part to the winning 12th inning. Pitching Summary: On the mound, Corbin Burnes (6.0 IP, 5 H, 5 K) started the game while Jorge Lopez (2.0 IP, 3 H, ER, 2 K), Tayler Scott (2.0 IP, 3 BB, 2 K), Josh Uhen (1.0 IP, K), Matt Ramsey (1.0 IP, BB, 3 K) provided the relief. Hitting Summary: Javier Betancourt (3-5, 2 RBI, R, 3B) Gabriel Noriega (1-5, RBI, R) Johnny Davis (1-6, RBI, SB) Biloxi Shuckers Game Log Shuckers score three in 12th inning to take one from Birmingham Biloxi Top of the 12th Pitching Change: Jace Fry replaces Robinson Leyer. Clint Coulter hit by pitch. Dustin DeMuth strikes out swinging. Gabriel Noriega singles on a ground ball to center fielder Jeff Gelalich. Clint Coulter to 2nd. Javier Betancourt triples (2) on a line drive to right fielder Jake Peter. Clint Coulter scores. Gabriel Noriega scores. Johnny Davis singles on a bunt ground ball to pitcher Jace Fry. Javier Betancourt scores. With Angel Ortega batting, wild pitch by Jace Fry, Johnny Davis to 2nd. With Angel Ortega batting, Johnny Davis steals (22) 3rd base. Angel Ortega strikes out swinging, catcher Alfredo Gonzalez to first baseman Nick Basto. Blake Allemand pops out to first baseman Nick Basto in foul territory.
  19. Agree 100% 50 IP at Miller Park in career: -5.43 ERA -1.377 WHIP -8 HRs(32 season average)
  20. I would move him up no doubt and I am not one to move people around much due to production. He was on fire the last week hitting over .500 and OPS'd 1.500. After taking out the 3 HRs(driving in himself) he had one RBI and one run scored. He might as well be hitting .150 at that rate. His most valuable asset right now during his hot streak is probably clearing the pitchers spot when he bats. His strikeout rate has plummetted(just one K in last week) and is hitting .375 in his last 28 days. Move the dude up in the order. I don't care if he is 22 or 32. If Eric Sogard is at the top of the order because he is flaming hot so should Orlando Arcia. If he magically flops because we moved him in the order no harm done because any value in the #8 spot is often pretty wasteful. I am sorry, but the fact he is still hitting #8 is a bit shocking. I understand he is young and him mashing makes you reluctant to make any type of change, but holy cow how long do you waste away that production in the #8 spot? Put on your big boy pants Arcia.
  21. My lord Burnes. Dude is absolutely nuts. Straight up dominates every single start. Excited he might be ready next year. Lots of solid pitching prospects working their way up.
  22. Is there a Chicago forum with a similar thread? If there is I need to see it. Gotta be good.
  23. I'm not sure what we saw today was exceptional base running. He is out 95% of the time there in that rundown. Obviously he was strategically overslidng the base.
  24. .295 I believe, actually. Definitely close to All Star caliber. So many good SS these days. Years ago I feel like it was a weakness, but now there are so many good ones and more on the way.
