  1. I was unaware he was pitching when he hurt it the first time. Since he won't be pitching, he could not injure it again. I am just saying Tyler Thornburg is a pitcher who throws 90+mph plus a bunch of other stressors on his arm. A 2B will not throw it as hard or even remotely close to as often. Not saying he can't injure himself again playing 2B, but I would find it to be a lot more unlikely than someone like Thornburg(or any pitcher). There are many players who heal their elbows without surgery and successfully avoid it in the future. Regardless there is no point to going under the knife right now. The elbow has healed and there is nothing to repair.
  2. Incredible play by Arcia especially with the circumstances. Gotta love the defensive skills he has and showing up in big moments. Really dangerous throw to make though with two outs and a great pitcher on the mound. Just happy the throw was close enough and Thames could dig it out.
  3. It's definitely bad, but I have to think it's an aberration and not a trend because he was so good defensively last year. He's basically the exact same player he was last year on average only the defense hasn't been good. He is on about the same pace as last year...just a touch worse fielding % wise. Not saying errors are everything because having good range is much preferred over a a few less errors. But come on man you should not be on pace for 10+ errors as an OFer. It is more irritating than an actual problem. Though I am not so convinced the rest of his defensive game is as good as some think.
  4. I am sure everyone is off Keon Broxton's case because he had a nice week, but 5 errors by an OFer in mid June is pretty pathetic.
  5. Comparing the elbow of a 2B to a pitcher...not good
  6. Explains why teams before us didn't agree to an underslot deal. Not much of a savings at all.
  7. Second. This idea deserves its own thread I see this way too often. That's a huge overpay for the Rangers. Jeffress has been dominant at times. Peralta has never been anything. It make little sense. Jeffress has a track record, is controllable, and cheaper. I don't get the swap.
  8. Why not just have a giant bullpen. Forget starters!
  9. You should make a thread for it. A Weeks/Gennett platoon would be a good duo to prefer. The defense is meh, but not like recent memory has many great 2nd baseman. JJ Hardy at SS. Carlos Gomez in CF. You know assuming I get the prime of these players.
  10. If we are going to use Peralta as a long man when the pitcher doesn't go 5+ just release him. What a pointless experiment to keep throwing him out there multiple innings. Why do we need him to do that when we have Hader in the same pen? Is Espino still here too??
  11. It really isn't that bad. It looks long, but there really aren't that many players teams would actually take on a rule 5 draft. If you aren't at least at AA you probably won't be taken. If not at AA you better be really intriguing for some reason. I guess the only concern would be the amount of pitchers that are in the higher minors that will be eligible. The Brewers aren't going to stick a bunch of them in the bullpen and they won't want to let a bunch of future bullpen guys burn up the 40 man if they don't have to. Garrett Cooper could be another interesting situation. I just don't see a spot in Milwaukee opening up unless a major injury happens. If we stay in contention I would expect some of this upper level borderline 40 man guys to be traded where a team can afford to have them burn up a 40 man spot. Outside of that some could get selected in the Rule 5 draft. Especially if a Cooper/Wilkerson/Archer is left unprotected. This will be an important job for David Stearns and Co. He already failed the first time preparing for the Rule 5 draft according to many when he left Diaz unprotected. It will be interesting how things go when he deals with way more legit prospects available for the draft.
  12. Milwaukee Brewers could use a guy like that. Their normal 2B has struggled and is injured.
  13. Interesting Fact: In the picture above Javier Betancourt is using a Junior Guerra bat.

  17. They're busy demanding we sell high on anyone producing so we can be the Philadelphia 76ers of baseball. We aren't a 100 win team and the division is "too good" around us. We must sell until this magical 60-100 win timing happens as the rest of the division is down. We also must trade anyone who doesn't have 6 years of control.
  18. Woah, there has to be a better one. Heck I think I have seen better by Arcia. Really good display of how strong of an arm he has, but it isn't like he had to really rush it or do anything off balance. He was playing deep and made a nice dive, but he has a lot of time to get up and set his feet. Definitely a SC Top 10 play of the day...but I really don't think it was much more than that.
  19. I'd assume Keston would go to Advanced-A. I mean he is considered quite advanced and they sent Corey Ray to Advanced-A so I don't see how he wouldn't end up there too.
  20. Wow a Top 5 potential prep bat from Wisconsin? Don't see that everyday.
  21. I care about this record in the sense that striking out people that much and that consistently probably means you are doing insanely well. Which is true in this case.
  22. Yup, games end after the visiting team bats in the top of the 8th right?
  23. This is where your dislike shows true. Stats show otherwise. Plus he expanded his zone because the pitcher is on deck in that situation. That's cool you can think that. Short term memory says he doesn't follow his career norms. Or at least every time I seem to be watching. On another note nice to see Thames and Broxton look good. They were starting to get really depressing to watch.
