  1. Segura dropped off before he was ever offered an extension. The second half of his big year left a lot to be desired.
  2. I will do this as a prediction thing holding zero weight on the past week. Because some of you are looking way to deep into a few games. 1. This team looks like it'll be pretty bad. Take the under on 70 wins. OVERREACTION: I think this team will fair better against none elite opponents this year. I think it mostly hinges on the bullpen closing out enough games. 2. Perez was a one year wonder who hit his ceiling last year. TRUTH: He did hit his ceiling last year and I don't think he will ever be that good again. He has an MLB future though. 3. Broxton's 2nd half 2016 was a fluke, we wont see that player again. TRUTH: Somewhat of a given he isn't a superstar player. How far he will decline is the question. 4. Aguilar should get as many ABs as Thames this year. OVERREACTION: Tough one as both are pretty good mysterys at this point. I think he will get similar PAs, but mostly because I don't think all that highly of Thames and to a degree Santana. 5. Peralta, Nelson, and Anderson will all be better than Davies this year. TRUTH: Seems like a solid candidate for a second year slump. I also think if the low strike gets called less it will greatly hurt Davies. Though odds tell you him being the 4th best guy is a bad bet. 6. This team will break the all time MLB strikeout record of 1543 - set by the 2016 Brewers. TRUTH: Pretty confident in this one. 7. Villar will never play passably well anywhere in the IF. OVERREACTION: What is passably first of all? I disagree with it though. Many scouts last year said Villar was good enough at short to stick there with his offense and didn't think it was as bad as people here think. Obviously if his offense dips he can't, but I could say that about most MLB players.
  3. Can we please let it die then? Revisit this in four years when Braun is still raking and Puig is playing in Korea. Why everything else on this site is premature speculation most of the time. Right now this site is filled with so much assumptions or overreactions about one week of baseball my head hurts. It's a rebuild people are going to be future oriented and want to look a few years ahead.
  4. This new rule is allowing big markets to sign Otani for pennys instead of big bucks they typically would. If Otani goes that route.
  5. Step 1: Get Aoki to endorse us. Step 2: Bring in another Japanese player.
  6. The Brewers have no chance honestly.
  7. The value of Yadiel Rivera is in the fact he still has options(I believe) and can come up when a middle infielder injury happens and be sent down all year long. I'm guessing Nick Franklin doesn't so he wouldn't hold that same value. Even then though we have so much versatility I don't know if we need a guy in AAA to bounce around and even then we can find any scrub to suck like Rivera. If he does have an option(s) then I don't really get the need for Rivera entirely.
  8. Way to early to judge that. He played better at SS than he is now at 2B. He might just be a slow learner. Early signs not great though.
  9. Cravy was not eligible to be brought up. You have to remember we optioned at the end of spring training and have to wait 10 days.
  10. We knew the pitching was going to get shelled today. The homerun power offense was a nice touch though.
  11. Why is Santana so slow? That plus his horrible instincts in the OF I wonder how he even plays there.
  12. ....I just want good fundamental baseball....is that too much to ask for.
  13. Suter is a trash can. Only reason he is here is because we aren't good. Sorry Clancy.
  14. Even better pitch there. Thanks Montgomery and Maddon for keeping him in there. Don't see why he would try a little harder to win.
  15. So far a beautiful day for the top prospects/notable prospects in the system. Most of the bad is from the filler.
  16. The Brewers are to blame for there being so many Cubs fans. If you look the Brewers spiked prices ridiculously high to where Brewers fans wouldn't even want to buy tickets for this weekend.
  17. We got it. You don't like Brian Anderson. Can we get back to baseball now? You are kinda being like what you hate Anderson for so much.
  18. Ahhh I thought we got all the complaining about announcers out yesterday.
  19. Yes I THINK food can be opened items, but liquids must be closed. Liquids have to be sealed. I have yet to see any food get turned away. A few years ago we sat by a guy who brought in a whole bucket of KFC. Haha saw Red Lobster once.
