  1. The Yankees must think they are the Cardinals. Yelling at himself when he missed a pitch, when he's been mired in a slump since the trade is not showing up a pitcher. I hope he gets 2 HR's today and Houston wins 25-0. Does that not happen 5 times every game though. Players are always yelling at themselves and throwing their bats when they miss a pitch. This is all total non sense.
  2. Bat flipping and pointing to your dugout on a double is no different than on a homer. Why people were so upset over that is really dumb. The amount of players that do this is incredibly high he just gets all of the attention. A lot of times it just makes the other team look like some whiney losers(Gerrit Cole incident). We need more of Gomez in this game. Players that play 110% and just love playing everyday.
  3. It would be so baseball not Brewers. Teams go through hot streaks and cold streaks. I highly doubt the Brewers could have such a hot streak to push them down past 5th or 6th. Not only would they have to play well, but the teams around them would have to really tank.
  4. Pujols and A-Rod are both in a pretty similar boat. Albert Pujols won't achieve it on his current contract unless he averages 30+...which seems questionable. Not to mention Pujols doesn't seem like the type of guy to hang around and limp to the finish line. Unless he is still playing at an above average level I expect him to bow out before he would ever get the record. A-Rod on the other hand will pull up in a wheel chair if given the chance.
  5. The problem is, they could be competitive for half a season. Closer to the 2014 season. Some guys have a hot 1st half, elevate their record, and there's your fool's gold. Unlike some, I don't want them to be horrible again next year just to get a another top 5 draft pick. I would love for them to win, say 77-78 games. That would tell me the young starters performed very well, and at least a couple of the young position players really hit well (Santana, Davis, Scooter, Segura, etc.) To me, that's the best of both worlds. The team already starts improving next year, while still adding more prospects for Lind, Lucroy, maybe Braun, KRod, etc. Exactly. Too many people hope for a top 5 pick and don't think about what must happen for that to come to fruition.
  6. The LLWS is embarrassing and an example of how not to do little league. Players showboat, players throw helmets, players complain, players act like babies, pitchers forced into high pitch counts, pitchers forced to throw pitches that destroy their arms. ESPN does a great job to show the good things 10,000 and cover up the bad things. This is something you don't want to be represented in.
  7. We could be competitive. Go out and drop money on an ace, trade away some prospects for another major piece, and maybe another biggish FA addition. Sort of pull a White Sox type off season with the only difference being the additions actually working out. Now I wouldn't pull off such moves...but it isn't like it has never been attempted before.
  8. I'd be open to hearing what you have available right now: Johnsontravis@ymail()com
  9. Really the two options are trading Davis(or I guess Braun if they could) or moving Braun to 1B. Davis may or may not have to be traded in the long run, but that is more down the road. If you trade Davis I think it is pretty much 100% certain Braun is going back to LF. Every other option is just a band aid.
  10. I have always felt the homerun king and the record holder can be seperate. Like to me the homerun king could be the guy who hit them the farthest or maybe who hit them most frequently.
  11. A-Rod said he wanted to break the record in an interview prior to the 2015 season, however coming off a full season suspension and due to his age many found it quite laughable. Since then A-Rod has gone on to hit 26 homers and is just 82 short. Many are still skeptical because he would have to do things never done before at such an old age. However when you think about it A-Rod is not typical and could very well be the kind of guy to produce well into his 40s. Don't forget he also gets the opportunity to DH making him last longer. Here is how I think he could do it: 2015- 4 more 2016- 25 2017- 25 2018- 17 2019- 12 So what does everyone think? If he doesn't break the HR record what will be the X-Factor and what will he end up with? Declined production? Leaving Yankee Stadium? Injuries? Not being offered a contract past 2017? My prediction is he will be good enough to warrant a 2018 contract by someone, but he will decline greatly and be forced to retire with 730 homeruns.
  12. Your problems started when you drafted him in the first place.
  13. Oh look a Lucroy HR...that should help boost his -0.2 WAR. *Puke*
  14. Dang that bat flip Carlos Gomez unleashed in his Brewers debut. That was Puig style before Puig existed.
  15. Has there EVER been a time where when showing the fan photo of the day Bill does not say, "Are you sure that's (insert name)." or "So which one is (insert name)."
  16. #1 pick is extremely unlikely at this point as the Phillies are so bad and have a solid 4 game lead on the Brewers. The bigger question is if they can squeeze in the Top 5...MAYBE the Top 3.
  17. I don't no if there is even a limit for a healthy pitcher...maybe 130-135. Then again you won't hit that until at least the 9th...so how could you even pull the guy out at that point.
  18. Either of them at 1st base doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I would prefer to just trade Davis and look for a real 1B. Why put him at 1B where he will be replacement level? His best value is as a trade chip or actually in LF. And for the record Khris Davis was tried at 1B in the minors and it DID NOT work out. That is why he is in LF.
  19. His biggest problem is the fact people have these unreasonable expectations for him. Way too many people get hard on him when he is just a mid rotation guy at best. A lot of people want to believe he has #2 potential.
  20. Or quite frankly he just doesn't care about it in general? I personally could care less if he just broke the franchise HR record. Because in the grand scheme of things there is nothing great about what he did...the amount of players to hit that many is very long.
  21. Whatever you do I don't really recommend any case that has a plastic cover over the screen. I have one and it is total garbage...stuff gets under the plastic and just sucks...just get a screen protector. I would also be carefull with an Otter Box because the last two cases I have had just didn't fair well. The rubbery outer case both times had the edges come off and not fit right after so long...very annoying. Though the IPhone Otter Box's seem to fair better from what I have seen. You didn't mention a screen protector, but if you don't already have one get one.
  22. I can't even count how many times Scooter Gennett has preferred the out at first over the lead runner. I really just don't get it... Nice to see Counsell show a little anger towards a player. If it was Roenicke he would still be picking his butt in his little corner.
  23. When did they stop closing the roof partially to avoid the shadows? I am guessing they stopped because the offense is garbage so might as well help the pitchers? Hitters can't hit in perfect conditions.
