  1. I don't know if that number is an actual number of made up or whatever, but I find it funny that more people attend my 30 and over men's league games.
  2. They actually have the attendance listed on the box score... It was 11.
  3. I guess Huira's broken again. That's quite an accomplishment to go 0-4 with 4 ks seeing nothing but fastballs all game long
  4. Nascar is at Road America? I'll have to tell hubby... The Xfinity series had a race there yesterday and today is the main series racing. Speaking of which, it was a career best 23rd place finish for Wisconsin hero Josh Bilicki! I would post this in the nascar thread if we had one but I guess basketball is close enough.
  5. The magic of Ned Yost
  6. I think I said that every time they won a World Series in the 2000's Haha, no kidding. Their championships are - by far - the biggest head scratchers to me. Just a good example of: "get hot and anything can happen" in the playoffs. This is why 2018 is so painful to me, because I thought the Brewers were the hottest team going into the playoffs (I still think they were and it's not close) and I thought it would carry them to the finish line. A big reason for that is "get hot and anything can happen" is a complete myth.
  7. 'Isn't that bad' is probably underselling it, as it's actually been quite good. Yeah, Boston sports have been crazy the last 20 years, but we've had it quite good relative to most markets regardless of size. No kidding. Take a look at how Minneapolis/St. Paul has done over the last couple decades with sports teams. You can add in college sports if you want it to be a little more hilarious.
  8. Yeah I mean if someone had that opinion around say 2006 or 2007 I could agree. At that time the Brewers had a postseason drought extending back to '82, the Bucks were a hopeless franchise who many thought would be playing in a new city in a few years, they had won a total of two playoff series since the '80's. The Packers were successful but their last Super Bowl win was '96, they were coming off two bad years in a row and were about to need a new QB. From '07 until today the Packers have had 11 playoff appearances with a 12-10 playoff record over that time period, 8 division titles, and 1 conference championship and Super Bowl win. The Brewers have had 5 postseason appearances, 2 league championship series appearances, and 2 division titles. The Bucks have had 7 playoff appearances, 2 division titles, and 1 conference championship series appearance (not including this current season). I wish my teams won the title every year too but its far from difficult to be a Wisconsin sports fan.
  9. The more games, the less likely it will determine a national champion and it has nothing to do with luck. It has everything to do with the top players who have millions of dollars on the line having more chances to get seriously injured. Not just during games, but also during practice. The more games, the fewer top players who will play. The fewer top players who will play, the less we can say a team is the true national champion. If you're the #15/16 team and you're playing Alabama/Clemson/Ohio State, which do you think you have a better chance of - winning or getting injured? If you play for Alabama/Clemson/Ohio State and you're projected to be a first round pick, do you want to play four more games? Hell no. Is playing four more games for a national championship worth it? Maybe, maybe not. It's not an issue now because it's only two more games. Add two more games and it becomes an issue. A. Unless the NCAA would like to stop broadcasting games on TV and stop charging large sums of money for tickets, the players should be paid more money B. If certain players do not want to play the entire season when games count towards the national title run, then good schools should recruit players who do.
  10. With the expanded playoff, D1 schools might have to play as many games as D3 schools do who go to the national championship.
  11. Thats a Bingo! When you have an undefeated team not get invited to the invitational tournament or the right bowl game like in the past, you can't crown a legitimate national champion. Even at 12 you have a very exclusive playoff with less than 10% of teams getting to play. God forbid very good one loss and two loss teams get a chance to play the best in a tournament.
  12. Should be 16 or 32, but 12 is a start. It will be nice to have the first ever national champion in division 1 FBS.
  13. That's not really an incorrect call, just not a very clear rule. They need to clean up the rule and have a certain distance in where an infield fly can't be called anymore.
  14. Miguel Sanchez is a good story, I’m really happy for him. He was signed at age-22 while serving in the Dominican Air Force. So I was looking through a few of the old international signings threads and couldn't find anything on him. Was wondering if you could post a link or point me in the right direction. Just kind of wanted to see what was said about him when he was first signed.
  15. Wow, an actual DSL guy makes it all the way up to Milwaukee. That is incredibly rare.
  16. So if you didn't think what he said was unprofessional, how has he otherwise missed the bar of professionalism expected of a team president? Just trying to understand the reasoning for those that are viewing him so negatively right now.... He’s just an easy punching bag. TT and MM are no longer here (RIP, Ted) and Murphy has been the only constant in the organization during this decade of futility (besides Rodgers). Decade of futility? When did that happen?
