  1. That’s a good question. I know nothing about investing in individual stocks. Going to learn as I go a bit, adding a small amount each month as I learn more.

  3. Yelich and Cain also finalists. I like Cain's odds. Yelich being a legit (overwhelming?) MVP candidate will help, even though it shouldn't.
  4. Maybe I am missing something - it sure looks to me he spiked him on purpose and easily could have moved his leg to miss him. I like how he grabbed him in the groin region to hold him up. Want the video to go another second to see if he gets a shot in while he is at it. Still don't see this as dirty. His leg/foot popped up from base contact and went into Pedroia. It didn't look like it was on purpose in that video, not to me anyway. It might look a lot different in real time. Like I said, I'm not sticking up for this POS, I hate the guy as much as the rest of you. It was horribly late (and intentionally so). He may not have tried to spike him, but that was the result of a dirty slide. He’s a turd.

  6. I have no idea. 55 sounds great, but that’s 22 years out yet, and I haven’t done any detailed planning. I teach in Wisconsin, so I have a pension to look forward to (hopefully), and I also contribute to a 403(b), but that is only about $3k a year. I should probably up that. My wife is a couple of years younger and has a decent 401(k) setup at her work. I tell her she should plan on working until she is 60+ to provide insurance for us when I retire... . We are basically debt free right now, but we will be buying or building a home in the next year or so. I probably should sit down and make some long-term plans.
  7. Anyone else use Robinhood? Looking for more insight into this before taking the dive in.
  8. Make sense. Thanks.
  9. Also if you value having the same seats every time. For some parts of the ballpark it's not super difficult to get the same seats for regular games, but for others your best bet is to lock in a preset plan. If you don't expect to make all 20 games in a package, remember that you can trade unused tickets ahead. There are years when we've done that with multiple pairs and used them on a single game for a bigger group. And I'm going to verify the "king if they make the playoffs" part. I really, really, really liked our postseason seats this go-round. That was the result of 20+ years of having one or two 20-packs. That's interesting. We do a family trip to Miller Park for 2 games each summer. I could end up turning my 20 game pack into tickets for 2 games?
  10. Well, to be fair, you can't prove your side anymore than I can (even if he never did anything intentionally again to potentially injure another player, I couldn't credit Knebel's fastball to his ribs for doing that). Some guys do grow up, though. Maybe it expedites the process. And even if it doesn't. You get what you get when you play dirty and endanger the health of another player. He simply deserves it.
  11. Yup. That's exactly what I said would happen. You protect your own from guys who endanger them. Manny did that. Maybe he doesn't learn anything from being drilled, but maybe it stops makes the next guy think a bit. Perhaps it doesn't, but he could have knocked JA out of a game(s) with that bullcrap, and I'd think a 98 mph fastball that could find a hand, wrist or elbow would make him think twice. At the least it'd make JA and other teammates feel protected a bit. I'm not an old school, "he showed me up, let's stick one in his earhole" guy, but when a guy goes out of his way to potentially injure one of your own, you might do something about it. "Winning the game" is already the objective, so let's just avoid that point.
  12. Maybe he’ll think a bit longer before trying to roll over somebody’s ankle like a middle school child am having a tantrum. I don’t care for retaliation for bat flips and theatrics, but Machado deserves a fastball somewhere where it hurts.
  13. $200 each. Make an offer otherwise.
  14. Not actually my tickets. $225 on SH, but definitely negotiable.
  15. Seats 5-6 PM with offer.
  16. Agreed. I'm not an optimistic homer, though. I know it's an uphill battle to win both days, but I also know we would have swept the series with simply a poor offensive performance rather than an absolutely dreadful one. Work is done in a few minutes, though, and then time is REALLY going to slow down leading up to tonight's game.
  17. Dude, you feel how you want. You ignore our rested BP which is better than Ryu or Buehler once twice through the order. I feel better about winning tonight than you do. My reasons are no less valid than yours. I'm ok with that.
  18. You make a statement about not feeling good about today's games based on past performance and then tell me that stuff doesn't carry over game to game when I do the same thing. Recent results are definitely useful indicators. You can certainly feel pessimistic about the Brewers chances, but be fair in your reasoning for being so. I think he is just saying that larger sample sizes tend to be more useful than small sample sizes in terms of indicating future results. Sure. And over a 162 game sample size, this team showed itself to be better than our opponent. It's easy to pick reasons to feel good or bad about tonight's game. Some people look for reasons to be pessimistic.
  19. That stuff doesn't carry over game to game. That's not how baseball works. Ryu and Buehler are very talented starters. If the Dodgers were starting Hill in one of these games, I'd like the Brewers chances a lot more. 20. All helpful information. Thanks, folks.
  21. What is the price for your tickets compared to what the seat would cost as as single game ticket for a fan? I'm thinking about possibly getting a 20 game pack, but I'm up in the Wausau area and wouldn't be able to use more than half probably. Lots of fans up here, though, so I could probably get rid of them if the cost is reasonable.
  22. Yeah, it was a fun day. I only recently started using StubHub. Learning a lot about buying tickets a good price. I see myself heading to Milwaukee for some games next year (3+ hour drive) without a ticket and snatching up some good seats late.
  23. I hope she waited. I was at that game paying the $100 face value for tickets. I noticed that tickets were going on SH for as low as $35 on game day.
