  1. FBTC looking juicy after that initial dip. I've been in and to of BTC, mostly because I have no interest in every taking custody of my own (I simply don't trust myself not to screw it up). These ETFs are exactly what I've been looking for to allow me access to that market. I'd guess probably many others, as well.
  2. How you guys approaching the ETFs? I’m thinking of putting a significant portion of my IRA (behind my pension and my wife’s 401(k) on the list of priorities for our retirement planning), into FBTC after my rollover is completed soon here. I don’t trust myself with self-custody of coins, but I want in on the upside.
  3. Opinions are allowed. As are questions. You didn’t just say that you didn’t like the hires. You said they were their worst choices (yes, in your opinion). I was only curious as to why you felt that way. Opine on.
  4. I’m curious about posts like this. I can understand being underwhelmed or claiming it to be the “least exciting choice” but what do you know about these two guys vs the others available that make them the worst choices, bar none?
  5. Bump. Hopefully it doesn’t get to game 3, but would like to make sure this is used I’d it does. Free ticket.
  6. I think there used to be a board for a post like this, but I don’t see it. Move if needed. I bought a ticket for game three of the wildcard series just so I have an earlier chance to buy future series tickets. It’s a single seat in the terrace OF. There’s no chance I can go, so I’d be willing to give it up for nothing to anyone local who might want to go.

  8. Fitch downgrading US debt from AAA to AA+ impacting the markets today.
  9. Birchard about $70k below slot. https://twitter.com/jimcallismlb/status/1680986832463331329?s=46&t=xYXr8128pwP2hYSLKUImaw
  10. 42macro? It actually called the recent bull market.
  11. Hope they weren't shorting the market... I do think the bear market comes Q4/Q1 next year, though. Anyone use 42macro as a resource?
  12. Any non-teachers on Brewerfan? Lol I’m 38. Making it another 17+! Years feels daunting. I like working with kids. Teaching high school English is challenging, though. And there’s more pressure to get kids to perform on tests (that mean nothing to them) each year. It sounds insane, but I’ve been considering a change in content or even adding an admin license. I’m even considering SPED.
  13. I'm 38. Hope to retire at 55. Should be able to with the current plan. My wife dreams of being snow birds. I could get on board if finances allow. We have a pretty solid savings rate, but not sure if that's in the cards. If it's really a must...I'm probably not retiring at 55. LOL
  14. Bad as in “massive Fed rate hikes aren’t cooling the job market yet.” 517k new jobs. Staggering number, really.
  15. Sounds good to me. Been waiting in this for several months now.
  16. I hate to burst your bubble, but this deal is payroll neutral at best.
  17. I’m pretty happy with it. Winker has a rack record in the NLC that would fit nicely for us. Some upside with Toro.
  18. Bump to add that Ally has jumped a couple times in the past month and is up to 2.0% as of today. It was 2.5% when we decided to move all our cash there back in 2018 and bottomed out at .5% in early to mid 2020, I believe. You obviously aren’t beating inflation, but it’s nice to get something for your cash. My US Bank account, which I’ll be closing very soon, sits at .01%. It’s robbery right now.
  19. Just got another email. Ally goes to 1.6% tomorrow.
  20. Ally just bumped up to 1.4% on savings accounts.
  21. Finishing off Malcolm Gladwell’s book, Talking to Strangers. More interesting for all the tidbits and anecdotes he discussed than the ideas that he uses them as support for, imo.
  22. Consumer spending up 1% last month. I wouldn’t bet much that we get that 2nd consecutive quarter of negative growth.
