  1. I think a Hader deal makes a lot of sense this offseason. A team like San Diego or Philadelphia, who might be able to package a current bat with some prospects? Does a deal with San Diego for a guy like CJ Cronenworth and some minor league arms make sense? Or is that just dumb one way or another?
  2. This is just purely inaccurate. You’re going to tell me this was a good offense? No. Just that it's factually inaccurate that the offense sucked most of the year. It was one of the better offenses in the league for nearly half the season. That's not insignificant.
  3. First time following an in-game thread...think I'll retire after this one. It's like watching at the bar with reactionary fans, but I don't have a beer.
  4. I'll be at school all afternoon with YouTube TV on my computer while students work on a project...
  5. I'm curious to see how this plays out. Basketball or football sure seem better built for that kind of viewing part than baseball.
  6. Lots of discounted tickets on StubHub. We've reached the point where NLDS appearances are not a huge draw!!!
  7. I do remember, the Rockies didn't really put up much resistance. Seemed like everything CC did worked perfectly. That said, last time around we didn't even have the luxury of elite SP. We were rolling Chacin/Miley as our top 2 starters and then our current big 3 were relief weapons if i remember correctly. In an ideal world, we'll go SP to Hader with maybe 1 other guy having to pitch in games we win. We might need Hader to get more than 3 outs some games, hopefully he's ready for that. Hader has said that extended outings aren't in the cards, but I can't imagine he wouldn't come in to put a fire out in the 8th and then finish a game.
  8. Do you get all the money back if the game doesn't happen or do they keep fees or something? Picked up a pair of Loge Outfield seats for game one and 4 LF bleacher seats for game 3. Definitely won't be able to make both being up in the Wausau area, but hoping to have to make the tough decision!!!
  9. Just received one this morning. What is availability like?
  10. Buehler finishes with 2.47 ERA. Burnes gets the ERA title.
  11. The app I use to get a quick look at the lines has Wisconsin -6.5. That seems awfully high. And CBS/Caesars says 68% of bets are on ND and it's still gone up. This seems like a weird one. I don't know what they saw in UW last year and first two games this year, but I guess UW has such a solid reputation or track record at this point. I suppose we're off a bye week too. Something similar happened in a UW at MSU game about 5 years ago and they ended up being right, UW won in a blow out. Yup, you see this occasionally where the books essentially bet on one team rather than just taking their cut. They're usually right when this happens.
  12. Shiba story seems to be 100% manipulation. Whales essentially removed a decimal on the list price, so people were buying $.000007 coins at $.00007. Woke up and it showed the coin at +400% and a few ours later, at correction, it was down 86%. Huge volume. Some people were taken because they didn't pay attention to decimal places. Surprised Coinbase allowed it to happen.
  13. Sounds like you’re a Marawood Conference alum. I lived 1 mile north of 29. Went to school in Athens.
  14. You a Marawood Conference alum? Or are you East or West side of state? I lived 1 mile north of 29. Went to school in Athens.
  15. Anybody follow what happened with Shiba Inu on Coinbase Pro yesterday? Some whales walked away with a lot of money from retail investors. Tough lesson for some. Pay attention to those decimal places!!!
  16. I'm really excited about that last part. There are already a couple of exciting players down in rookie ball, and there certainly will be more coming if our development program continues to function well.
  17. I could get on board with highway 29, but I agree that 64 is probably the best marker. As has bene mentioned, that is basically when endless fields turn into endless woods. It's quite noticeable if you pay attention as you drive up highway 51.
  18. What do you mean by that? Ashby isn't young, but he's still only 23 years old. If he is still eligible, I'm not sure how he isn't a top 25 guy.
  19. Oops... meant to edit and double posted...
  20. This is just silly.
  21. Curious about Weimer's power projection. I looked earlier today and he had 12 home runs in 3 seasons of college ball. Was power just an assumption due to his size/leverage?
  22. Am I getting way ahead of myself? We seemed to have hit on our top picks the past two years, although it's maybe early to judge. But since the pre-season lists came out, we have had Frelick, Wiemer, Zamora, Valerio, Warren, Gray Jr., Black, heck even Darrian Miller post pretty impressive seasons while being league average age or younger. That's ignoring the performances of the young guys in rookie ball or elsewhere. These are newcomers in addition to our already well-regarded players, Mitchell, Small, Turang, and Ashby having pretty good years overall. Small samples for some, for sure, and a lot of these guys are still in A-ball, but I'm pretty damn excited about this system right now. Is it top-15 going into next year? Maybe even higher? Am I high? Tell me, folks.
  23. I'll be really curious to see if Hunter Wohler makes his way onto the field more. It sounds intriguing, but most reports seem to point to his strengths currently being physicality and work in the box vs a difference-maker playing deep center field. Travion Blaylock is a guy with more time in the program who we could see take the field, as well.
