  1. Is Woodruff this year's Cal Eldred a la 1992?
  2. Not sure if this acquisition will be enough to get us to the postseason, but Swarzak/Knebel is starting to look like an awfully good 8th/9th inning combo.
  3. Would be nice if Jeffress/Swarzak/Knebel becomes a lights out 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.
  4. If the Cubs take 2 of 3 or sweep this weekend, I would try and move Knebel on Monday. We aren't realistically catching the Cubs if we fall more than two games back, plus Swarzak could slide right in and close games for us the rest of the season and probably not lose too much at closer.
  5. If the Cubs take 2 of 3 or sweep us this weekend, I would flip the switch in a hurry and sell on July 31.
  6. Like this move. I'm almost ready to stand pat now and go to battle with this roster in the second half. Hader can now be inserted into the starting role if need be, and hopefully Woodruff is getting close to coming back for additional rotational depth.
  7. I like the Harrison pick. Looks like a guy who can swing the bat, if he can stick at catcher we may really have something here.
  8. At what point does Jesus Aguilar become an everyday player? I get that it is nice to have a big bat off the bench, but if he is as good as he has looked so far this year, wouldn't we want his production on an everyday basis?
  9. Free Garrett Cooper!!
  10. I actually think Miller Park could use a lighting upgrade too. It is hard to pick up the ball there sometimes, wonder if some of our players feel they same way.
  11. It has been a small sampling, but Jesus Aguilar looks like the real deal to me. Makes contact, hits for power, and has been impressive on the defensive side of the ball. I think it is only a matter of time before he is our every day first baseman. Maybe move Thames to right field if Santana doesn't get going soon?
  12. Taylor Jungmann has to be the player sent down to make room for Franklin tomorrow, doesn't he? He just doesn't look like a big league pitcher to me right now, seems to be struggling with mechanical/control issues. I was holding my breath the whole time he was in the game last night.
  13. Any updates as to new uniforms being introduced? I know there was speculation earlier this offseason.
  14. Don't know a ton about him, but a 40% caught stealing would rank him amongst the best in baseball last year, no?
  15. Yes, I think I will be a bit disappointed if only because I feel like it's expected and there's a little bit of the Christmas morning type excitement to see what you got. His value will not get higher imo. There's also the whole 10/5 rights thing so I do think a deal gets done. I think it'll be an unexpected team somehow. The Dodgers have the prospects but honestly, their need is not an OF. I don't think however the contract would limit them at all. For all the talk about their supposed debt issue, they just went and signed Hill to what I would only describe as a horribly risky deal. If I'm them, 2B Dozier interests me far more than Braun. There has to be a tremendous amount of pressure on the Dodgers to win now. Their last world series ring came in, what, 1988? They need to add hitters to their lineup, they had no offensive punch in the playoffs last year. They also have a stable of nice prospects in their system that we ought to be interested in. I find them to be the best match in baseball for a Braun trade, hope it happens.
  16. Is anyone else going to be disappointed if Braun doesn't get moved this offseason? I just can't see this team competing for a division/and or playoff spot in the next 2-3 seasons, why hold onto him when we are still rebuilding? I can't imagine his value will get any higher than it is right now. It just feels like the Brewers aren't fully committing to a rebuild until Braun is moved for prospects.
  17. The White Sox are absolutely dominating these winter meetings. We should get a great haul for Braun.
  18. I think this is a very nice haul for the Brewers. I think its pretty safe to say we aren't done yet this off season either.
  19. What exactly was the point in trading for Anderson?
  20. Don't look now but Victor Roache is on an absolute tear.
