  1. He'd make sense still since KC has Infante at 2B and he's pathetic
  2. Jaso got only 2/8 to platoon at 1B For PIT. Too bad ehenBrewers would pay a little more to have his OBP, which would make a good trade piece. F defense was the problem (which yes it would be a legit issue with him) then they better not sign Alvarez
  3. The Brewers souldn't be trading for any short term option at any position. There's plenty of free players (relatively speaking) available to fill out a lineup. No need to give up assets to get them. Robinson is controlled through 2020. The only short term thing about him is age, but maybe given full plying time and the bats not needing him, he could be flipped
  4. Give them scooter for Robinson plus a low level prospect
  5. I'd be happy if they got one decent prospect for Scooter. Mats could use a lefty and a 2B
  6. I guess I'd like to know mostly for curiosity's sake, since it would seemingly solve the outfield crowding and 1B opening with one move that also wouldn't cost anything. Plus Braun in the OF will get worse as he ages. With that much sense in the surface, it would be interesting to hear the reason that option won't be done. I wouldn't assume Davis is gone yet. Not that I would be against trading him, but it's not a certainty. Plus, while there may not be a logjam in April, how do younger outfielders get to prove themselves unless spots open up in the bigs? With Broxton, Phillips, Roache ,Coulter, Santana, Reed, and Wren all ready or close to ready, there needs to be more than just CF open by late 2016.
  7. Other than CC telling people that it's not an option I don't think you're going to get an explanation. Maybe he doesnt want to make yet another position change? Maybe he's no good there? Who knows. I guess does it really matter? It's just not happening now. (Or maybe ever.) I guess I'd like to know mostly for curiosity's sake, since it would seemingly solve the outfield crowding and 1B opening with one move that also wouldn't cost anything. 8. Murphys a solid bat for a 2B or 3B, but that's what gives him value. He doesn't hit well for an everyday 1B. I may have mentioned it before, but as for a cheap option with flip potential, John Jaso would be a good option I think. I'd still love to hear an explanation as to why Braun can't make the move, not just that they won't make that move
  9. He'd be a good roll of the dice for cheap. As for free agents, Inthink Morneau would be the best gamble on cheap production to flip. I'd also like to see John Jaso as a consideration there
  10. I meant not signing anyone with a hefty salary that would stop them from being able to take on another teams overpaid player
  11. Since the Brewers are dropping payroll by trading vets and not signing anyone, they should take advantage of this flexibility in 2 ways : 1- can they sign guys long term and front-load contracts in the next year or 2 to allow flexibility upon contention again? 2- are there any players to trade for as a favor to another team in order to get talent (like Bronson Arroyo last year). Maybe Melvin Upton, who could also be a temporary CF.
  12. So when CC gets asked about Braun moving to 1B does he just respond by saying "He's not an option there" without any sort of explanation? Basically: "Braun isn't going to move to 1B because he isn't going to move to 1B."
  13. Rogers is a AAAA player and at best you are looking at a platoon bat. There is nothing more for him to prove he is what he is. I would rather go with someone like Alvarez who if he hits anywhere to what Lind did here you can get a nice prospect or two back at the deadline. Getting additional prospects and a top 10 draft pick is greater than a top 5 pick in the draft. I get that idea but I'd find a good option for that instead. Alvarez is too putrid defensively for an NL team to get value from him. Not to mention Rogers had a 120 OPS+ last year and has a 989 OPS in AAA the last 2 years-not exactly Logan Schafer.
  14. I don't like the idea of signing someone for 1B. Either move Braun there or give Rogers the chance to prove himself. If Rogers shows he can be an everyday guy and the Brewers won't move any OF there to remove the possible crowd there, then try to find something next year. But noes the time to gamble on guys like Rogers to hopefully get great value for cheap
  15. Until Santana, Davis, or Braun are traded or its announced that Brauns moving to 1B (even that has a prerequisite of trading Lind) what happens? Have Santana in the minors or bench so some Craig Gentry trash can take up space and make the pitchers feel better about themselves?
  16. That would be the most logical thing. Especially since Santana is a better RF than him and Davis, despite a muffin of an arm, can't hack 1B. How dare you insult muffins. Ha true! I should be more specific- a gross healthy Bran muffin
  17. He's still controlled for a long time, and it's not like the Brewers need to trade away anyone who has used any big league time (I think they can compete by 2018), but CF is not a long term need
  18. That would be the most logical thing. Especially since Santana is a better RF than him and Davis, despite a muffin of an arm, can't hack 1B.
  19. Does this sound dumb to anyone else? Unless Davis is traded for a good haul or Braun is moved to first, why not just live with Santana's poor defense? It's not like it'll kill the nonexistent playoff chances, and Phillips is the answer sometime in 2017 if not 2016. If Santana's that bad anyway, bring up Reed after awhile next year. There's no point in wasting resources on a CF for the short term, especially at a stocked position in the future
  20. If he's controlled until 2020 then how's he short term? Miami also would want a lot
  21. Since the Padres are going to try and compete (I'd likely rebuild completely if I were them) they have an immediate hole at SS and 1B, as long as they play Meyers in LF-which id do before sliding him all the way down the defensive spectrum. They also have a young catcher in Austin Hedges sort of blocked at the bigs. He'd be a good target in exchange for Lind and Segura. Segura is solid enough defensively to hold down SS for their youngsters coming up. The Brewers could start hedges in AAA until Lucroys traded mid season
  22. Solid player to gamble on. That's what positions in a down season should be used for
  23. I wouldn't mind if they gambled on rivera or Rodriguez out of the rule 5 at 3B. If they completely fail, then use 3B to get Rivera and Villar some at bats if Seguras still there. Maybe Orf could be another option at 3B during the season
  24. Scooter does need to rebuild value after his awful start before trading him. I also disagree on Lucroy. If we're basing his value on defense, then Maldonado is not a big dropped in that regard. But Lucroy could also be a Midseason trade after a bad start and concussion.
  25. His price will probably depend on Park's. But I like the idea of going after him. He's still young and a relatively low risk. The gamble is a way better idea than wasting 3B with Herrera types this year and possibly next
