  1. Still won't admit to the approach Counsell has take with playing time for our outfielders? They've all have flashes of success and done very well with how he's managed them. Young and older. No, because the approach is stupid. Plus, like Brew4U says "young and older." Why the crap should the Brewers currently be caring at all about the "older"?
  2. Can you give 1 reason why Brixton and Santana should not both get the vast majority of starts with Kirk only spot starting?
  3. Counsell must be relieved there's a righty pitching to get his beloved in the lineup
  4. He's a pointless veteran taking away at bats from two young outfielders. It'd be one thing if it's a situation like Carter where it's a pointless veteran signed because we had no one else there (even though I would've preferred giving Pinto a shot at 1B instead of signing Carter.) Anyone consider maybe the youngsters haven't EARNED that playing time yet? Have you considered that the youngsters have hit BETTER than Kirk (OPS+ of 105, 106 vs 95 - in other words 2 above average vs 1 below average)?
  5. I'd just like to hear a freaking reason from either Stearns or CC as to why the crap they'd bench their younger better player
  6. I'd just like to hear a freaking reason from either Stearns or CC as to why the crap they'd bench their younger better player
  7. In CCs defense, Santana deserves to sit and Kirk deserves to play after the way they each played yesterday
  8. Yes they can easily afford both but you are running out of room to play everyone at that point. At some point next year Brinson will be with the Brewers with Puig, Braun, Santana and Broxton in the OF already that won't give you much playing time for all 5 of those players and they need playing time as 3/5 of those players are developing players. . Don't forget the almighty Kirk
  9. Ok sit Santana. It wouldn't be good for the Brewers to see him play or anything
  10. The problem with this part is, is he a .380 OBP guy going forward? His BABIP this year is .401. His career is .357. If his BABIP drops to .360, what's his average and OBP going to look like? It will still be decent but not the .300/380 he's putting up this year. Add in the less than ideal defense and you're just not getting a super valuable player. I'd like to see them shop him before other teams find that out and hope some team overpays for what he did this year. His high BABIP, along with giving away the most freebies to other teams in baseball (leads MLB in errors and dumb base running outs) means it may be selling high based on his high OBP this year
  11. With a righty in there I wonder who will stupidly sit so Kirk can play
  12. Last 14 days, OPS'ing .796 At home this year, .952 Wonder why Counsell wants to play him.... Then Arcia should be benched if random meaningless wins are more important than playing young guys with possible futures
  13. Because Maldonado is a known commodity, why not give Pina more time? He's earned playing time and there's a slight chance he shows he's worth starting for a couple seasons
  14. If the Brewers start Arcia in AAA, which they should next year, Perez has shown he can be the full time 3B at least until Arcias service is delayed enough and he can come up and push Villar to 3B. But long term a utility player is his best use.
  15. What if you drive in a run with a hit directly before you get caught stealing? What about it? That already has nothing to do with OBP
  16. Then he gets credit for an extra base hit every time he steals a base with that logic, so Villar wins. Yeah, but my point is getting on base doesn't matter if you just get a single or walk then get picked off with a obviously big lead or getting thrown out at a dumb time likely to stat pad
  17. Exactly, WHY? I think you'll see Broxton primarily against lefties. Which would be Stupid by Counsell to not play the guy with the possible future
  18. His all-star looking OBP of 389 would be a lot more mediocre if he didn't get credit for getting on base then running into outs (which do out a waste to getting on base in the first place)
  19. Yes this should be Wren and Broxtons time, but I definitely wouldn't include Flores in a discussion of talented players since he has no talent. Just get a low level prospect for Kirk and use playing time for the future
  20. C- Susac 1B-Braun - make room for OF prospects 2B-Villar- Isan Diaz maybe pushing Villar to super sub 3B-Moustakas - F.A. SS-Arcia LF-Phillips CF- Brinson RF - Santana - could be traded mid season to make a spot for Ray Bench: Maldonado Perez Kyle Wren Michael Reed Nate Orf Rotation: Lance Lynn- FA Nelson Davies Header Lopez - prospects like Beckford and Ortiz ready at AAA Bullpen - failed starters, etc Trade away: Guerra, Thornburg, Gennett, Carter
  21. Puig is a complete douche (Grienke even threw his stuff off the team bus) and has been getting worse every year, which probably has something to do with uncoachability. Having Puig around the team would probably have more bad than good effects, and corner OF is taken already
  22. Consideringn he'll never have much value and isn't a young player, it would be nice to move him to open a Wren/Broxton platoon.
  23. Brinson was struggling at AA and there's no need to rush him to the majors either. Platoon Wren/Broxton until late April of next year, assuming he's proven he's ready then. But with Brinson being the likely future CF, I wonder when Ray and Phillips start playing some corner OF.
