  1. Minnesota will trade Plouffe or move Sano to the OF and they haven't agreed to terms with Park yet. But his production and affordability combined with a weak 1B market make a lot of suitors. I think it may net a solid return. Maybe the Orioles, Pirates, Twins, Astros, Nats, Cardinals, Mariners, Indians, and Nats will compete over him (at least those who don't go internal or sign Chris Davis)
  2. I know I mentioned it in the other thread about 2 trades, but the Rangers shouldn't be desparate for Lucroy. Yes he'd be an upgrade, but Chirinos is adequate. Not sayin they shouldn't be interested, but they don't need a catcher bad
  3. Those proposals would never ever happen, but i still see the Rangers as a trade partner. Their need at catcher is overblown because Chorinos is solid, but they do need help at LF and need to get more right handed iffensively. Gallo is a lefty and Beltres still there at 3B. Maybe something like: To MIL- Gallo Chorinos To TEX- Lucroy Davis With some prospects added into equalize value though I think its close already
  4. I think Villar is a utility or stopgap SS when (hopefully) Segura is traded. So he won't block any 3B possibilities
  5. I agree with the white sox being a good trade partner for Lucroy. With their lack of infielders, maybe segura can be combined to up the return.
  6. Getting Park would blockb1B, which is where Braun could be moved to alleviate the logjam in the OF corners. Also, if he's signed before Lind is traded, then maybe his value would be slightly weakened due to his trade being an obvious necessity. Plus there's hi guarantee of success just because Kang made the transition. Just like Ichiros success didn't guarantee Shuyishi Shinjos success
  7. Just because the Brewers won't be competitive this year and likely in 2017 doesn't mean that it doesn't matter whose playing. There should never be a wasted starter at any position. Starters should be either prospects trying to make it in the bigs, older guys who are proving trade value, placeholder to maintain a year of control on prospects in AAA, or buy-low candidates who are being gambled on. No bodies to yet take up space (unless the starters been traded and there's no one else).
  8. More lefties would be nice, but i don't know if I'd worry about that this year. It's not like a lack of balance will keep them from the playoffs. When getting prospects via trade, then give a lefty preference at that point
  9. To be more specific than just "get young talent (duh)" obviously there's a need for more pitching, especially more high end pitching. There also isn't much of a future at 3B or 2B. Although 2B could be at least serviceable with Gennett and a platoon mate like Perez. Getting a top pitching prospect or a top 3B or C would take giving up high value like Lucroy, but that should be done by Midseason anyway. Maybe sell high on Khris Davis to get top talent back
  10. Not a bad idea. The Rangers won't want Scooter though. They'd only be hypothetically trading Profar because they don't have a need at 2B.
  11. Biggest need is sifting through the poop to see if it contains some worthy starters (Rogers), Role players (Peterson) or getting minor leaguers up (Reed). The other big need is trading all extra assets (Lind, Segura, etc) and increasing the value of vets to trade them (Lucroy)
  12. 1B isn't necessarily a need if Rogers gets a chance after Linds hopefully traded or Braun gets moved there-especially I ally with the excess OF
  13. Keeping Lind and Krod without getting anything-that's what would hurt the rebuild the most- it's better than most options of "let's get a 3b prospect" generically without saying who for what. Plouffe could also be traded again later if the Brewers still aren't contending in 2017. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Rogers play 3b next year. Even if he is awful defensively we can all see if his bat plays as an everyday player.
  14. There may need to be some leveling there, but binding have a problem with targeting Kepler because yes he's an OF but trading Davis opens up LF and trading Lind opens 1B where Kepler plays some-although personally is move Braun there. While Plouffe may not be an ideal target, giving up 3 total years between Lind and Krod wouldn't be hard to do. I just hope they trade their older players like them. If it's in another trade I'd be good with that too, as long as they get something equal or better. I also think a year of someone like Herrera (they clearly don't trust Rogers there) is worthless even in a rebuilding year since he has no future anyway
  15. Stay internal for the rotation next year. Throw enough poop at the wall to see what sticks: Opening day rotation: Nelson Jungman Peralta Garza Pena ( for a few weeks to delay burning control for Davies) By Midseason: Nelson Jungman Peralta Davies Lopez There are many other internal options, as discussed in earlier posts
  16. The Twins to me line up great as trading partners. I've thought of 2 trades to line up; 1 bigger and 1 smaller Trade 1: Lind and Krod for Plouffe- 3b fix with 3 years of control and Lind would improve Dh production whole Krod would help their bad bullpen. Trade 2: Brewers get: Max Kepler (OF), Trevor Plouffe, Oswaldo Arcia (OF-placeholder for better young OFs) and Cameron Booster LHP prospect) Twins get: Lind, Krod, Davis, Lucroy
