  1. No offense bro, but I probably wouldnt go looking for advice on investing on any forum on the internet.
  2. People need to remember that Seattle has a nice size payroll. Jack Z hasnt won anything yet. Its amazing the love for him on this board.
  3. The only way Damon would come to Milwaukee is if he was 40 and was taking the only offer after a year off. Hmm..sounds familiar.
  4. I think if you truely read Fielder's comments in the article, you can tell that he is ready to enter free agency and is prepared to play for a different team. He wants to play for an annual contender, a place where his family will like and a place that is going to pay him. He wont be signing any long term deal with the brewers. They have as much chance as they did signing CC Sabathia last off season. Not gonna happen.
  5. Im not making anything if these sell but a buddy and I bought Braun game used gloves from Makita and the each got one gove to split the cost 50/50. I think one looks just as good displayed as two!
  6. Its really not a joke mostly because its a contract year. If he wants to get a decent contract to be a starter in this league again, he is going to have to make the starting rotation and pitch well.
  7. Man, if Parra could turn out to be everything everyone always hoped for him, that would seriously help our playoff chances the next 3-4 years.
  8. There have been some really big suprises every year. Recently with guys like Casey Mcgehee and even Todd Coffey and a blast from the past like Scotty Po. For me this is a big toss up. I really want to say that Gomez and even Lucroy are going to have great seasons but my money is on Rickie Weeks. Weeks seriously tore it last year until his injury. My prediction is that he is amazing and makes the all star team with help from Wisconsin with the final vote. Any guesses?
  9. If he sucks, he gets cut and the brewers arent out anything. If he's still decent, we win. win win situation folks
  10. So will all of the other GM's in baseball who didnt sign him. I understand that you think Sheets is a good player and that he is going to have a great year. But, you act like Sheets was wanting to come back to Milwaukee and play.If the Brewers offered 10 million and so did the A's, he would have signed with the A's. In the end, Melvin's going to look really good if (as I'm predicting now) Sheets gets injured again and has a bad year.
  11. You know, the Brewers are really making this whole thing suck. If you pay $25 for an auto from somebody at a Brewers event, it should be on whatever you want (thats appropriate). Now anyone who was going to get Braun or Fielder will just switch and get Hoffman or Yount making their lines the craziest and longest. Soon, at every Brewers event, they will only sign 5x7 cards. I know that most every team has some type of event like this. Does anyone know if any other teams restrict their players like this?
  12. Well, the Brewers should have signed Sheets. Obviously, something went down behind the scenes where at least one of the parties hated the other at the end. Hopefully now he's signed somewhere the truth comes out. Ask yourself, who would you rather have for the coming season? Doug Davis and LaTroy Hawkins, or Sheets? More like Davis, Hawkins and Counsell, or Sheets? Sheets will be on the DL for sure at some point in 2010.
  13. Dmiles, I can completely see your point, I truely do. I just have a different opinion.
  14. And now the BREWERS are asking him and Fielder to only sign photo cards to keep the lines moving.
  15. Think of it though, over the course of just 1 year, how many times Braun is asked for his auto and gives it for free. Arriving at the ballpark, at the ballpark, leaving the ballpark, arriving to the hotel, at the hotel, leaving the hotel, at the airport...the list goes on and on and on.
  16. Here's the deal folks... I am completely fine with them Braun only signing the photo cards and here is why; If Braun is constantly signing everything and anything, the value and coolness factor of that sig on items goes waaaaaaay down. If Braun's auto is easily attainable, Mikita wont sell nearly as much stuff. This is easily in his contract. I dont have a problem with it at all. And no offense, but it seems like the people that are complaining the most, already have about 5-20 things signed by Braun already. For the people saying "this is charity, shame shame". You are WRONG. Braun will still sign 250 photo cards and the charity will still get the full amount. There will still be a huge line for Braun. Settle down.
  17. You and me both, BHF. I have watched ebay pretty closely the last couple of years (Im certain I have missed out on some great deals here and there of course) but havent seen one in my price range from a reputable dealer. If I were to go to the fanfest, thats exactly what I was going to get signed.
  18. Last year, I contacted Bob and bought a pair of game used gloves, an auto'd ball, and two 8x10's for a very reasonable price straight from Mikita Sports.
  19. I can see that. That way you "know it's real". I am comfortable on ebay and calling places myself to get a deal. My time is valuable to me. I could see myself do it with a friend though, because if nothing else, it would be nice to get a little taste of baseball/summer in January.
  20. And it wouldnt suprise me to see four players do it Hart, Weeks, Braun and Fielder. And it would suprise me to see two players with 40 or more...
  21. Here is the way I see it. I love autographs and have what I consider to be a pretty nice collection of Packer/Brewer auto's. Keep in mind that I am 2 hours from Milwaukee as well as that plays into my opinion. Why would I want to get there at 4/5 AM and wait in line for a LONG time just to get a Braun ticket and then wait another 4 hours to get Braun to sign something I have been holding forever. At this point, his signature has cost me at least $40 ($15 to get in, $25 for Braun) and this isnt counting on whatever the item I am getting signed cost me (16x20, MLB, jersey, bat, etc). Then he personalizes it, which I dont want. The only way I would do this is if I had a special item (game stub, etc) or I had no money invested (such as someone giving you an authentic Braun jersey for Christmas, etc). Why go through all this hassle when you can just call Mikita Sports and work out a deal with Bob Mikita personally. Look on Ebay from Mikita Sports, it is reasonable on there too. So the way I look at, I have to drive to Milwaukee, get up crazy early, wait in line forever and it is going to cost me slightly less that what I can comfortably order from my own home.
  22. By the end of the season, Doug Melvin will be getting recognized by national writers for overhauling the pitching and putting the Brewers in a spot to be successful. Correct, I just wrote that. Mark it 8 dude.
  23. Stevo, it appears you are seriously trying to find anything/everything wrong with this deal. Do you honestly not think the crew is better than it was before the DD signing? I also guarantee you that once the season starts, Mark A will say, as he always does, that there is money there at the deadline to add an impact player if we need one and are going for it. Come on bro, seriously. Just enjoy it.
  24. always get a jersey signed on the number!
  25. I am going this spring. Anything I must see or do when I am there? We are going to be all over (except for the northern part). We are renting a car and staying at a bed and breakfast, most nights.
