  1. AFAIK he hasn't actually done that yet to Chourio since he's started 4 straight in LF but it's still a new position to think about during the midst of being benched more often and struggling at the dish. We saw the hesitancy of playing LF today from him with Adames on that popup in the 8th. Frelick's played 16 games in LF. I'm not sure why all of a sudden we needed to start playing Chourio there.
  2. I think jostling him around the lineup and now sitting him 3x in 7 games isn't going to help him any. Cement him in a position and give him every day at bats. Let him work through it. It's not like Jake Bauers is giving quality at bats either. Play the kid and let him see MLB pitchers. It's not like he's pressing like Jackson Holliday was when he got his call or he looked completely overwhelmed like Black did. Don't bat him leadoff one day and then 8th the next and then 9th the next. Don't play him in LF one day and then RF the next. Keep him in RF and keep him hitting 8th or 9th and let him figure it out. Give him less to think about and let his natural ability take over.
  3. Defense can be ignored when the initial comment was about not having fun watching the guys hit. Not everything has to be a pages long argument. Sanchez I'll concede just because he at least provides MLB level power while not being a complete turd at the dish despite having some epic slumps over his career. The Slamchize will drive you mad 80% of the time tho and be part of the "no fun" department quite often.
  4. We don't have very many starting level offensive MLB players at this point. Not a full lineup anyways.
  5. Perkins, as a hitter, is a minor leaguer. That's the point, thus the "to the plate" part of the comment that I responded to. We're not talking defense here. Sanchez is worthless 80% of the time at the plate. I get that we're getting what we paid for but he's gonna be "no fun" to watch 80% of the time because of what he is. Nothing groundbreaking here.
  6. Bauers, Sanchez, Dunn, Perkins I'll save you time on Perkins since that's where the argument will probably come, he started nicely but he's hitting .211 over his last 20 games since hitting .367 over his first 8 games. Sanchez provides one thing and one thing only and he doesn't provide it at an elite enough pace to be as poor a hitter as he is. Bauers and Dunn are self explanatory.
  7. That'll happen when half the lineup consists of should be minor leaguers.
  8. We lean way too heavily on certain things. No reason to pull him at 67 pitches. This bullpen is going to be dead by August.
  9. 2-0 and you swing at that... Get this bum off the team.
  10. Dunn's a career minor leaguer for a reason...
  11. My issue has much less to do with Black because the reasoning there makes sense and has more to do with Chourio riding the pine in favor of Bauers playing the OF for the sake of R/L splits or perceived splits (Chourio is hitting better vs RHP than LHP and his AVG vs RHP is 20 points higher than JB's career avg vs RHP). Play Chourio. I get the occasional rest for the kid but 3 times in 7 games in favor of Bauers in LF makes zero sense to me.
  12. You'd have a point if it were only about one prospect.
  13. We treat street min vets better than our prospects and we wonder why their development grows stagnant and they become AAAA players.
  14. How long do we expect Black to be down in AAA? Would be nice to get him in the lineup in Monasterio's spot.
  15. What I thought...enjoy your night
  16. No, that's how you interpreted what I said, not what was actually said. Find me where I specifically stated they were bad baseball players. I'll wait.
  17. I'm speaking from the perspective of the more important part of playing baseball...being able to hit major league pitching.
  18. I never said they were bad. I never used that word. You can feel free to re-read everything.
  19. This doesn't carry the weight you think it does. They left him unprotected because they knew he wouldn't be taken due to the TJS. Doesn't reflect anything else.
  20. Good thing Matt Arnold didn't do that.
  21. Right. I confused you with Jay87 like you confused me with others IRT "contending." Regardless, I spend a metric eff ton of time scouting. It's a major hobby of mine and Crow is legit. Repeatable delivery with exceptional control and works his secondaries well. You gamble on the post-TJS uptick in his fastball all day here. You get that, he goes from BOR arm to MOR arm and some. I'll almost guarantee he's not a reliever. He's a starter all day regardless of the fastball sitting 91.
  22. I haven't said that once
  23. Well you're certainly not one so I'm failing to see your point here? You're overrating Brewers farmhands (I mean c'mon Ryan Brady?) but I'm sure I can trust your Coleman Crow opinion truly.
  24. Where have I given off that I expect to "contend" in 2024? This trade wasn't made with the year 2024 in mind. I don't know how you can't see that yet.
