  1. Wow, after seeing that, I'm guessing we won't see him resigning with the Astros. Oh its possible (IF the Astros are the highest bidder). Just nobody sees that as likely. Arte Moreno of the Angels has reserved multiple Brinks Trucks for this occasion... Going back to Cali...
  2. Pirates continuing to clean house... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/10/pirates-fire-general-manager-neal-huntington.html
  3. First - Thank you for sharing. Some very important points in that 1st paragraph (especially parts I put in bold). Increased population size does have some impact... Second - Serious question for the board: Since Chris Chambers & Lee Evans went from NEOhio (Cleveland area) to Wisconsin (& later early NFL draft picks), what other recruits have the Badgers been able to attract from NEOhio??? I know one of the main recruitment goals of Jim Tressel when he took over at OSU was to make it more difficult for schools outside of Ohio to swipe talents from the state. A lot of talents (like Desmond Howard, Elvis Grbac, Ricky Powers, OJ McDuffie, Charles Wooden) left under John Cooper's watch as he seemed more interested to get talents from around the country. Since the change some places (Meatchicken & ND) have continued to draw talent out of Ohio, especially from the Cleveland area but I cant recall any more at Wisconsin. Any ideas??
  4. I stated it earlier in the thread - I want to see 2 UNDEFEATED B10 teams playing for the conference title in Indy. That way whichever team wins, the committee will have to take a B10 team for the playoff. A 1 loss conference champ can get screwed out of the playoffs too easily... At this point the best chance for that to happen this season is Minnesota & Ohio State.
  5. No need for Blue. Chryst failed to figure it out and adjust. The offensive scheme got us to the red zone, what? Once? Thanks in large part to a punt block...
  6. Key part of this Badger drive is eating up the clock so Buckeyes have little to no more time with the ball & the wind at their back...
  7. Badgers fans looked to bad weather as a way to level the field. Turns out, not so much. While poor weather has muted OSU it has neutered the Badgers... Looks like Buckeyes start 2nd half with the ball & the wind behind them...
  8. Who has the wind behind them will be a factor. Wisconsin had it for Q1. Now the Buckeyes have it for Q2.
  9. In an effort to move toward more joyful and uplifting news. https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-carrasco-wins-roberto-clemente-award Congrats to Cookie..
  10. Well said... Completely agree.
  11. Another Meatchicken loss this weekend & I doubt they are in the top 25. 3 losses (even if to Wisc/ PSU/ ND) should have them outside looking in.. Really is fun with both teams listed in the top 25 (& App St ahead of Meatchicken)...
  12. O Happy Day!
  13. When I saw the full AP poll today, I nearly bust a gut .... Notice #19 & #21.... AP Top 25 Rank Team Points W-L 1 Alabama 1,486 7-0 2 LSU 1,462 7-0 3 Ohio State 1,429 7-0 4 Clemson 1,408 7-0 5 Oklahoma 1,343 7-0 6 Penn State 1,224 7-0 7 Florida 1,138 7-1 8 Notre Dame 1,058 5-1 9 Auburn 1,054 6-1 10 Georgia 1,031 6-1 11 Oregon 979 6-1 12 Utah 852 6-1 13 Wisconsin 767 6-1 14 Baylor 732 7-0 15 Texas 627 5-2 16 SMU 587 7-0 17 Minnesota 577 7-0 18 Cincinnati 468 6-1 19 Michigan 440 5-2 20 Iowa 347 5-2 21 App State 286 6-0 Oh if they had been reversed....
  14. Nats at Astros should be a good one. Both teams have great starting pitching & with Cole being held back for a possible ALCS Gm7 he is now able to go for Gm 1...
  15. While everyone assumes health and effectiveness, it is important to have viable depth throughout the year. Some players in the minors now might not be an option until later in the season, but Deolis could be an option (if healthy & effective) at the start of the season if someone like Faria/ Black/ etc is not.
  16. Can we all just agree that it would be to the benefit of the B10 to have 2 undefeated teams meet in Indy for the championship game?? That way - whichever team wins the B10 is assured of having someone in the 4 team playoff.. Its too easy for the committee to figure out a way to exclude a B10 champion that has a loss (any loss).. Remove any playoff doubt... I would rather have a toe amputated then have Minnesota in the playoffs. I have a similar feeling regarding my brother-in-law & his alma mater (Meatchicken). But when the 1st championship game was played he was sending me texts supporting the B10 over Oregon...

  18. Saw this posted before the game kicked off. Kudos to Joseph for seeing & acknowledging the potential problem (looking ahead) before it became evident to all. Yes, Illinois played over their heads and their D took some huge strides forward but the Badgers still had the opportunity to win this game & they failed in multiple places.. On another note - on GameDay this morning Bear was noting he heard the early line for Wisc at OSU being @ 13.5. At the time I was surprised by the number (thinking it high). Now, it seems much more accurate..
  19. Where is the like/ +1 button to support & back these comments????
  20. FYI - Brian McCann announced his retirement after the NLCS. IF the National buyout Yan Gomes, take a hard look. His offense is good every 3 years or so but behind the plate he is very good calling games, framing pitches and controlling the running came. He would be a very good partner for the younger starters..
  21. You might be looking at the right team but perhaps the wrong guy. Angels like Simmons (a lot, they dealt to get him). They would be looking for a lot to deal him. But they have salary tied up in another player that is coming back from a shoulder issue and is also a FA after 2020. Zack Cozart might be a buy low candidate where the Angels even eat some salary in the deal (he is set to get $12.67M).. The Angels moved him over to 3B when they signed him but he has struggled huge in the AL. Perhaps a move back to the NL (& SS) would be a boost for his performance.. Maybe a change of scenery for both him and Shaw would work. Just a spitball thought...
  22. Astros might consider that deal if the Brewers added Woodruf & Hiura to its end of the trade... Otherwise, forget about it...
  23. Its game 4 of 7.... & Washington is ahead in the series 3-0 No need to play this like every out is extra important or a game 7.. IF somehow the Cards rally, Washington still has Annibel, Max and Steven for the next 3 games... If its over today (or tomorrow), the Nats have a few extra days to get ready for the Astros.....
  24. Oakland & Tampa have the worst stadium situations. At least people are still showing up in Oakland. Can't say that with Tampa. I would favor Tampa moving 1st..
  25. Cards made defensive changes going into the bottom of the 1st. Carpenter taken out. Bader put into CF, shifting Fowler & Edman..
