  1. I should have phrased that better. What I meant was, as long as you're getting outs, it doesn't matter how you get them. Obviously a K is better than a ball hit in play which may or may not become an out.
  2. I'm realizing this is the thread for me over the vent thread, so here goes: -If I ever return to Wrigley, it will never be as disappointing as my first game. -Yo looks great -The Cubs used a lot of arms in their pen, so hopefully they'll be taxed a bit in the next two games. -Sheets tomorrow -We're still up 6 1/2 ...And that's all I got.
  3. Hadn't thought of this, but this is a pretty clever idea IMO.
  4. I did not wear my choke shirt (thank Goodness), and we headed for the exits immediately after the homer, but that didn't stop some guy from slapping me on the head (which wore a Brewers hat) a couple times and screaming taunts in my face. Ugh, what a nightmare.
  5. Strikeouts aren't "better" outs for pitchers; it's just that they are good indicators of future success. So yeah Sheets' low k totals are noteworthy, but he keeps talking about tinkering with his curve to get where he wants. He's doing just fine in the mean time.
  6. Most teams are shut out several times each season (a whole nine innings of failure!). It's not like it was 26 scoreless innings or something.
  7. Gosh, that was such a brutal game to be at. My first time at Wrigley. Not sure I ever care to go back.
  8. Yeah I have definitely decided not to try to ruffle feathers and will not be wearing the Choke shirt. I made it mainly for when they come to Milwaukee. Unfortunately Mike I'm not the one with the tickets, so I'm not sure where I'll be sitting. Later all, go Crew!
  9. So randomly I called the Bucks second round pick of Ramon Sessions. Should be some depth if they can't re-sign Mo.
  10. Aaron Gray is sloooow and unathletic. McRoberts is a wimp.
  11. Can't imagine a better team for Alando. Can't wait to see Nash throwing him lobs.
  12. Important question for my fellow Brewer fans: Every time I go to a Brewers-Cubs game in Milwaukee I wear my home-made Choke shirt (you know, the Cubs logo but spelling "Choke" instead of "Cubs.") Anyway, tomorrow is my first time at Wrigley. I am currently leaning towards notwearing the Choke shirt, because I feel like I'd be asking for trouble. Instead I am thinking I'll just wear some Brewers shirt. Am I doing the right thing?
  13. So I totally thought this was a metaphor. Like, are the people who sit in 217 friendly? Does the sun shine on section 217? Heh...
  14. Most teams considered him the best player available. The Bucks had him rated as such, so they took him. I at least like the strategy of taking a player they like despite the rumblings that he doesn't want to play in Milwaukee. Whether he was the best player is another story of course, but I like the guts they showed if nothing else.
  15. I don't see how anyone can be up in arms over this pick at this point. All the scouts are saying Yi has tremendous potential. Horford and Conley were gone... There wasn't anyone markedly better than Yi available.
  16. They'll try to force a trade, but they have no leverage. Yi's already said he's not going back to China.
  17. Yeah I don't mind Yi. Dirk comparisons get my attention.
  18. Only thing about Thornton is he's really old. Not sure what that will mean.
  19. Sounding like it will be Yi. I'll be interested to see how that goes, because apparently the entire nation of China is against the Bucks.
  20. The magic bladder.
  21. Anyways, Frank Thomas is the man. He was so dominant. The guy drew walks like there was no tomorrow, too. HOFer.
  22. Well we heard from the Yankees for like, ten minutes that Hughes was untradeable. This is kind of funny. I hope they trade him away in attempt to make a playoff run, because their chances are pretty darn low.
  23. I think the Bucks could ask for Harris and pick 34 from Dallas. Then the Bucks could try to package 34 and 56 to move up a bit if they wanted to.
  24. I'm still laughing. Damian Miller! How excellent!
