  1. Miller... crap. Amazing comeback. Gotta get the w tomorrow.
  2. And the Magic Man is up to bat... Let's go Rillo!
  3. Not trying to make a point, but actually Oswalt only gave up four earned runs. The first two runs in the first inning were unearned.
  4. Well certainly their play so far has been disappointing. But with a young team, slow starts aren't unexpected. I fully expect them to hit their stride after a couple months. Oakland, after trading Mulder and Hudson, was awful the first two months. They they went on a charge and nearly made the playoffs.
  5. Bucksman, I appreciate you laying out your reasons. I don't agree with most of them, but at least you made real arguments. Here are some reasons why I think the team WILL be better than last year. 1. A healthy Ben Sheets. The team miraculously reached .500 without Sheets down the stretch. He missed a lot of starts. If he's healthy all season, that will give the team a huge lift. 2. Youth. I noticed you used this as a weakness. I think that they gained valuable experience last season, and it will show this year. Prince has already adjusted well. It's almost the same team as last year, except the younger guys are all one year older. They're bound to improve. 3. Depth. The Brewers' bench in past years has been laughable. With Gross and Hall/Koskie, we have actual major-league caliber players on the bench. We've already seen what a bench can do for a team with Gross' early success. 4. Coaching. You also used this as a weakness. I think Yost has improved on his in-game skills, and he is gaining experience along with the young players. He's always been a great motivator, and the players respect him.
  6. Ok Bucksman, I probably should let this go, but you've got me intrigued. What makes you think this year's team will have a worse record that last year's?
  7. Boy, what a hideous outing though. Go Bucks.
  8. Bucksman, you don't think the Mets would love to have someone like Doug Davis? Or would they prefer Steve Trachsel, Victor Martinez and 41 year old Tom Glavine? Doug Davis is a top of the rotation starter. He had the most strikeouts out of any lefty in the NL. You're not going to convince me otherwise.
  9. At least we'll get to face Preston Wilson several more times this season.
  10. The Brewers were one win in Pittsburgh short of being a winning team, and Davis was an established number two. Roger Clemens got rocked by the Brewers last year. Everyone has bad outings.
  11. No. They were, but they changed their minds after two innings tonight.
  12. Well it's obviously different watching on tv than actually being there... so I don't think that's fair. What I will give you is that it was very poor judgment for Brady to go home on that grounder to Ensberg. A decent throw and he's out by a mile.
  13. Is a run scoring on a dropped third strike even an RBI?
  14. It's funny. I'm following on gametracker, and one of the strikes is shown out of the strike zone.
  15. Yeah but Mulder hasn't been great today. They should probably have more than two runs right now.
  16. Sweet! A Hart sighting! Come on Corey!
  17. Do the Cardinals ever not convert runners in scoring position?
  18. Walked Mulder... ugh. Ohka just doesn't have it today. I think this is about to get worse.
