  1. I thought it was alright overall. My favorite was Phyllis, "I can put on my lipstick like Molly Ringwald in the Breakfast Club."
  2. Marquette is sure looking like a quality win as well.
  3. Jon Leuer is good.
  4. This would not even be a question for me either. I would love to live in Austin.
  5. I see Kansas as the clear favorite, but every team has its blemishes. Kansas, as someone mentioned, would be a near impossible matchup for Marquette (think 2003).
  6. Wow was that a dominating performance. Marquette hasn't looked that good all year. Not only are they safely in, but they are heading for a nice seed.
  7. That's the point I was trying to make. I thought the depiction of Pandora was awesome.
  8. I don't get all the backlash over this movie. Sure... It's Dances With Wolves if Dances With Wolves featured an entirely made up world, language, animals and people. And the special effects were mind-blowing. Star Wars has incredibly cheesy lines also, and nobody seems to mind.
  9. I've been on this same rant. It's all about drumming up as much importance for the current game, rationale be damned. Last weekend's Marquette-Cincinnati game was a perfect example. "The eyes of the college basketball world are on this game!" Uh, no, because each team has five or six games left.
  10. I don't like Crean, but to be fair Buzz is still working with Crean's recruits. We'll see what happens the next couple year. Same is true for Crean, he needs a chance to bring in his own recruits and then we'll see what he can do there. (Not to mention the fact they're coming off probabation.) With that said, Buzz has done a great job this year. He's winning in the Big East with no size, and getting scoring out of guys like Acker and Cubillan. I agree that we'll see what happens, but I think Buzz has done a better job with Crean's players than Crean did. And Marquette has some great recruiting classes on the way. Crean was a pretty good recruiter, but I've never been that impressed by his actual coaching. No doubt he'll get better players there, but I don't think Indiana will be consistently at the top of the conference under him. Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue and Illinois can get the same caliber of recruits, and coaches like Izzo, Bo, and Painter will get more out of their guys than he will.
  11. I don't care for Purdue at all, but losing Hummel is awful. They would have gotten a 1 seed. It was nice to see the lineup that had so much success earlier this year. Leuer's rust appears to be pretty much gone. Then again, it's hard to take much away from a game against such a terrible team. I agree that Marquette is better off with Buzz than Crean.
  12. I think a lot of people disagree with you. A close loss to a good team is probably seen in a better light than a narrow victory over a bad team. What was more impressive, Wisconsin's last-second loss at Purdue, or their narrow wins at home over Penn St., Michigan and Northwestern?
  13. I don't understand what's happened to Jarmusz. What happened to the guy who shut down Manny Harris twice?
  14. As a 14 year old kid I was at one of my brother's basketball tournaments when they played Arizona. I'll always remember all the people crowded around the TV watching that game instead of their son's/brother's game.
  15. On the bright side, huge win for Marquette today. They needed that for their tournament resume.
  16. Another bad game for Wisconsin. They won but that hardly seems to matter. 43 points at halftime, and then they just get shut down in the second half--by a poor defensive team who recently lost to Penn St. and Iowa. I couldn't understand why Ryan Evans hardly played after coming in and doing a good job on Shurna. Jarmusz was abused. They need to wake up soon or this is going to end up a wasted season.
  17. Last night at a bar, a girl next to us all of a sudden had a full blown nosebleed. How did it happen, you ask? Why, she went to take a drink, missed the straw, and accidentally wedged the straw up her nose.
  18. The Badgers have looked like bags of crap two of their last three games. Bad loss for Marquette as well; they really needed that game.
  19. The Illinois loss will be what costs UW the title.
  20. Shaun White is unreal. He's twice as good as anyone else.
  21. I will definitely be surprised if the Badgers get better than a 5 seed. They've only been higher than a 5 twice since 99. They are almost always under-seeded. Michigan St. will get a 3 at least.
  22. But it's Izzo in March! ----- Continued here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=30565
  23. I'm a Badger fan first, but I'm a big fan of both. Didn't go to either school, so that's fair, right? I loved Bo's quote after the game yesterday. "When Jason arrived as a freshman, he couldn't guard the out of bounds line."
  24. They had four athletes with four torches, and the final thing was supposed to be four pillars coming out of the ground angling up to the main tower. Each athlete was supposed to light one pillar simultaneously to shoot up to the big tower. Except there was like a two or three minute delay, and then only three pillars came up. One woman was forced to just stand there while the other three lit their pillar.
  25. Alright... This is kind of embarrassing for Canada. Mechanical failure for the entire world to see.
