  1. Holy crap. How awful. In a different direction, how sick are NBC executives right now over Lindsey Vonn's injury? They were already siphoning money on the Olympics. After Conan's disaster, I can't say I'm not taking enjoyment from that.
  2. This is just another in the long list of reasons why Jeff Francoeur is the root of all baseball evil.
  3. I'm not 100% on board with this. I was surprised at how energetic the people around me (in a non-student section) were during the Michigan game, even when the Badgers were behind by a good bit.Yeah, that's why I said it could, because I didn't remember noticing a dead crowd for those games. I just noticed it the other night for Illinois and was thinking maybe things were similar for those other games.
  4. I'm not angry at Hart at all, and I don't care all that much about the money. I just don't understand how anyone felt he deserved it.
  5. My Twins fan friend who follows the team very closely expects this to be done before Spring Training. I'm definitely rooting for it.
  6. I definitely noticed the subdued crowd that game, even from watching on tv. That could explain some part of lackluster home performances this season against Illinois, Penn St. and Michigan.
  7. There's no way Hart wins. When you think about it, he's throwing away about 400 grand by not compromising.
  8. I get so frustrated when the Badgers end up settling for jumpers like this. 90% of their shots have been jumpers. Rob Wilson is the only one trying to get to the basket with regularity. Demitri McCamey is good.
  9. Thanks TLB. Not that you like seeing star players out, but many Big Ten teams have lost a prominent player for a substantial period. If it helps Purdue win, I won't feel bad about it.
  10. Moving day in the Big 10. Illinois at Wisconsin, Purdue at Michigan St. I expect Wisconsin to handle Illinois at home. If Purdue can beat Michigan St. (anyone know if Lucas is playing?) then Wisconsin is tied for first.
  11. How about the first five out being Big East teams? I'd bet money one or two of those teams will make it. Marquette is surging, and I think they'll get in.
  12. They just dismantled Michigan. I love this team.
  13. Just missing a win at Purdue should tell you something also.
  14. So your response to all these thought-out posts with facts is, "None of them are going to make a deep run." And I agree with you guys on Ohio St. When I said top four Big Ten teams, I meant Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan St. and Ohio St. They're the only team to blow out Wisconsin all season. Turner is phenomenal, and they're just about as good as any team in the country.
  15. To me, there has been just a gigantic leap from season 1 to 2. This is one of my top two favorite shows.
  16. No need to apologize; you aren't bursting anyone's bubble. When you make a claim like that, I'm sure people would love you to name the five ACC and Big 12 teams better than Wisconsin. Wisconsin has won its last four games against the ACC. They weren't just home games. In fact, only one was. Maryland neutral site, Florida State neutral site (NCAA tournament for that matter), Virginia at Virginia. They only home win was over Duke, the ACC's best team. Neutral site, the only ACC team I wouldn't feel confident against is Duke. Big 12? The only clear-cut superior team is Kansas. UW has played Texas extremely evenly the last couple years. Missouri is good, but clearly better than Wisconsin? Nope. Same with K-State and Baylor, and the rest almost anyone would say are not as good as Wisconsin. I'm even having a hard time coming up with five better teams in the Big East. Syracuse, Villanova... Then who? West Virginia? Georgetown? Heck, Pomeroy has Marquette as the 5th best Big East team, and UW beat them. And Marquette won at Georgetown. And as for the lack of athleticism being a burden? Do you realize how many teams in just the last five years have been far superior to UW athletically and still gotten waxed? My favorite example is Michael Beasley's Kansas State team that was never even in the game, but there are plenty of others. And for the record, I'd stack the top four Big Ten teams up against the top four of any conference and wouldn't feel overmatched at all.
  17. Also the win over Maryland at a neutral site, and a last second shot away from a win at Purdue.
  18. Jordan Taylor is outstanding. Amazing that he's only a sophomore.
  19. The Kohl Center is a voodoo house.
  20. Big game tonight, and I expect UW to win. Wisconsin with Leuer and Ohio State with Evan Turner are just as good as Michigan St, but I think the Kohl Center advantage will be enough even without Leuer.
  21. This would be a great get for the Big Ten. A top 25 team in football and basketball regularly the last couple years.
  22. My eyes almost bugged out of my head when I first read that as 1 year/$7.5 million. This is a good signing, and one I wish the Brewers would have made instead of Edmonds.
  23. Finally Marquette wins a close game. Aside from that brain fart at Depaul, they continue to look impressive. That loss could really hurt though.
  24. Gross. Baseball-wise, this is meh. But I can't stand Jim Edmonds. The guy oozes with arrogance. I cringe envisioning the first time he slows down on a fly ball so he can dive or slide for it.
