  1. Lineup on 8/26 against Archer, also at Miller Park, was: Cain CF Yelich RF Aguilar 1B Shaw 2B Braun LF Moustakas 3B Schoop SS Pina C Anderson P Based on career numbers, you have to find spots in the lineup for Cain, Schoop, and Shaw. Moose had his first 2 career hits against Archer during that previous game, including a HR. With Anderson having started that game, you could afford to have Schoop at SS, but I don't think they'll want to do that with Gio on the mound. I'd guess they'll lineup like this: Cain CF Yelich RF Shaw 3B Braun LF Schoop 2B Aguilar 1B Pina C Arcia SS Gonzalez P Not sure where Aguilar fits in there but I doubt they give him a 2nd straight game off (and 3rd straight day with the off day).
  2. Where? CBS still has Lester starting the first game. Brewers.com had Montgomery, now it says Lester again for tomorrow.
  3. Credit to Pence for getting a good swing on that last one. Blew two 98 fastballs by him, then elevated to almost out of the zone at 99 mph and Pence made contact. That was a pretty great pitch exactly where he wanted it though.
  4. Brewers win! Cardinals lose! Shuckers going to the championship! .....and Victor freaking Caratini hits a grand slam to put the Cubs up 4-0 in game 2......can't have everything I guess......
  5. Might be a defensive replacement thing actually with the bases loaded and only 1 out, probably going to 5 man infield.
  6. Ozuna was taken out of the game in the bottom of the 9th. Doesn't look like a double switch. Did he hurt himself on that homer?
  7. Tigers have the winning run at 2nd with nobody out. Two base fielding error by Matt Carpenter.
  8. Two walkoffs two days in a row would be sweeter anyhow....
  9. Carpenter led of the 9th with an infield hit, and Marcel Ozuna just tied it up with a 2-out, 2-run homer. UGH!!!
  10. Game 2 is underway in Washington. Rodriguez retires the side in the top of the 1st. Hope the Nats' offense can stay hot. I haven't really looked at his peripherals, does Hamels' success with the Cubs seem legit?
  11. "Watch Manny's glove, he barely moves it" as Pina drags that pitch back from way off the corner. There's a good six inch buffer around the zone tonight.
  12. [sarcasm]Why do I bother looking?[/sarcasm] This is what I do when the wife is out of town.
  13. Tigers hold the line after Boyd exits, 3-1 going to the bottom of the 8th. Cards will have the top of the order up in the 9th (Carpenter-Martinez-O'Neill)
  14. I think he's safe, but replays this year are insane and wouldn't be surprised if they didn't reverse it (except just to screw with us).
  15. Boyd was rolling for the Tigers through 7. Just like that, homer and walk to start the 8th and he's out. 3-1 Tigers, tying run at the plate with nobody out.
  16. I don't have much knowledge about Gio but he is blowing low-90s fastballs by guys Peralta-style.
  17. Gio pitched a great sequence and Avellino did a great job staying alive there, but holy crap is the strike zone obscenely large tonight. Good for us at this point so I won't complain.....
  18. My thoughts there: Wow, Aguilar's going to head home? That'll be a close play.........oh......wow.....Hunter Pence has a terrible arm........
  19. Good to see he still has some life in him. After the struggles of the past couple months I thought it might be a mistake to send him to the AFL and not shut him down. Perhaps not. I tuned in to the radio feed during his last AB where he had a bases clearing hit, they said yesterday he hit the ball hard all 4 times, once right at the 3B and one deep drive that the outfielder ran down, then 2 doubles. Agreed that after a pretty horrid August, he's going to finish his AA tenure on a high note.
  20. Seriously, how do you pay attention to all this and not have your head explode. I have like 4 Gameday tabs open. Tigers' pitcher Matthew Boyd so far against the Cardinals tonight: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 11 K Tigers up 3-0.
