  1. We are cornering the market in fat first basemen. Way to go boy genius.
  2. I believe in drafting for upside and Wicks is not that guy but I think he will be the selection.
  3. My guess is a 90 percent chance Wicks is the pick unless someone picks him before we pick.
  4. Not real sure Tellez has enough of a track record yet for anyone to classify him as "garbage". We're talking about a guy who hit 21 HRs as a 24-year-old in 2019, then followed that up with a .886 OPS in last year's abbreviated season. In your mind, what would be a "legitimate" answer at 1B? This guy is another Vogelbach who at least we picked up on waivers. Cron for one would have been a better target and I think we need a right handed bat more than yet another lefty. Are we really so flush with pitching to give away two more arms for a replacement level first baseman.
  5. Really was hoping for a legitimate answer for first base not more garbage. Stearns just doesn’t value the position at all.
  6. Thames and Carter were both lost cost signings as was claiming Vogelbach. The Brewers drafts and big free agent expenditures mostly focus on up the middle athletes like Bradley and Cain. I just don't see Stearns being willing to pay a high price for a player like Gallo but we will see soon enough.
  7. Attanasio made a big mistake extending Yelich after his serious injury without seeing how he would perform after getting hurt. All we can do is hope that MVP Yelich shows up again soon but its not looking good right now. This owner is very impulsive in his dealings with players as we have seen time and time again from his signing Suppan and Lohse to the second extension of Braun and now this Yelich deal. The Brewers would be better off if Attanasio stayed out of personnel moves and just let Stearns do his job but thats probably not realistic at all. I would be very surprised if Stearns was in favor of this extension and now we have to live with it and hope that the 2018-19 version shows up which looks less likely by the day.
  8. Yelich's OPS is all based on his extremely high walk percentage which probably is unsustainable if he continues to slug below .400. I don't know what is going on with him but his mechanics look completely messed up; he seems to not be bending his front knee properly which might mean he never recovered from fouling the ball off the knee.
  9. If Arcia only played as well on a day to day basis as he did in big games he would still be the Brewers shortstop.
  10. Could you elaborate on that? Melvin was all about power even when it came to sacrificing the ability to make contact while Stearns tends to go for the multi position middle infield type like Peterson. Gallo offers the positional versatility that Stearns likes but I don't see him as much of a fan of the extreme swing and miss even if that comes with a lot of walks with a guy like Gallo. Maybe I'm mistaken but Stearns passed on Gallo in the Lucroy deal in favor of Brinson and I see him passing on making an offer this time around.
  11. As great as Peterson has been and he has been terrific can we really count on him to keep this up when his career up until this season says otherwise.
  12. Gallo is probably going to be way too expensive and I see him more of a Melvin type of player than Stearns but something must be done about first base. We can't continue to have multiple players in the lineup everyday with averages in the .150 range.
  13. We aren't getting anything useful for him so may as well send him down and try again next season.
  14. This bottom of the lineup has to be improved greatly.
  15. Call me crazy but I think Strickland is really going to help this team.
  16. Doubt we see Milner again this season after tonight.
  17. Oh good, you’re back… the Brewers must be losing. If you don't like what I have to say ignore me like I do for your Braun nonsense.
  18. We absolutely have to trade for a first baseman. I still think there is a chance that Hiura can rediscover his hitting ability but I doubt its going to happen this year.
  19. If we wanted to dump Yelich would anyone be willing to take his contract.
  20. At least Yelich avoided the golden sombrero.
  21. This was a game we need to win with tomorrow looking bleak.
  22. I know they've hit the last few weeks but I'm still convinced they need one and maybe two bats to compete with the top teams.
  23. This front office leans heavily to college players so don't expect our first round pick to come from the high school ranks.
  24. #1 nobody knows IF we are enamored with Wicks. These are just mock drafts with writers speculating based on what the are hearing, 90% of it is hot air. I do like Ford and would be perfectly happy with that pick. Also OK with taking a risk on Hoglund. Still wouldn't be surprised if a guy falls like last year for whatever reason. You just need a 2-3 teams draft underslot, and it could happen. Mock drafts have been pretty accurate when it comes to the Brewers. The team often seems to pick players that they were rumored to be interested in. Wicks doesn't seem to be a pitcher I would want them to pick but with most pundits linking him to the team he is a pretty likely pick.
