  1. My problem with the Hader trade is we didn't get nearly enough for the best reliever in baseball and it was made worse by dropping Lamet who at least had some upside.
  2. The piper does not have to get paid if you are a fantastic scouting and developing organization as the Padres are under Preller. I do not think he is that great of a GM but Preller has been great at the scouting part of the game going back to his time in Texas when it was his players that got to the World Series and that team hasn't been the same since he left.
  3. Better for Stearns to work for the criminal that owns the Mets.
  4. No that was not the sentiment on the Urias/Lauer deal because Urias was considered to be a top prospect. The reaction to that trade was far better than this one and rightfully so.
  5. I know I will get shouted down for saying this but I think Stearns has checked out and can't wait to get to New York. If this is the case Attanasio should let him leave after the season. No way do I trust this guy to get what we need when we are forced to trade Corbin and another give away trade like the Hader one will kill this franchise for years to come. I guess we are pretty much locked in to Arnold to replace Stearns when the time comes but I would make the bold move and get Luhnow who must be allowed back by now. Its all pitiful to think about but this trade deadline might be the worst in team history though I'm sure someone will find some more awful deals to compare this one to,
  6. Misery loves company so I too hope San Diego fails.
  7. I disagree that the value was fine. We needed to focus more on quality instead of quantity and not getting any top prospects is a major fail. i was in favor of trading Hader only if we were getting back at least one if not two top prospects and if that was unavailable stick with the best reliever in baseball.
  8. Stearns really killed the moral of this team with the Hader trade. We either should have held out for a lot more or waited till the offseason and if the offers didn't improve just kept the best reliever in the game through next season.
  9. I guess making the playoffs beats the alternative but really who is this team beating in a series much less winning multiple series.
  10. Got lucky after he swung at ball 4 two pitches earlier but we'll take it.
  11. Great defesnive play but failure anyway you put it.
  12. I'd have asked for better prospects instead of half a year of Rogers.
  13. Give it a rest already people are allowed opinions that you don't agree with.
  14. They are decent prospects but not enough for 1.5 years of Hader.
  15. We didn't need any offensive upgrades just 17 new relievers to replace the best in baseball.
  16. If I am a troll I would have been here the last two nights.
  17. A 3-4-5 of Tellez, McCutchen, and Wong is not good enough for a championship hopeful but Stearns didn't care.
  18. Its just a matter of time and the deadline showed he has checked out.
  19. For the record I was in favor of trading Hader but not for the lousy return we got. I would rather have kept him for the next 1.5 years and let him walk than take what we did in return. Preller worked Stearns over really badly.
