  1. Funny how much praise McCutchen receives despite being a terrible cleanup hitter while Hiura gets trashed constantly despite being our best hitter this season.
  2. The schedule is going to flip soon and the cardinals will be playing the bottom feeders while we play good teams. I am pretty certain that they have a big advantage with the schedules the rest of the way. We needed to pad our record at home this week and thats clearly not happening.
  3. Counsell is repsonsible along with our inept offense if we lose this one. Woodruff was clearly laboring in the 6th and needed to be taken out and well the offense is just garbage.
  4. We scored one run against a bunch of bad pitchers today so the game was not lost because of the pen and you can't expect these relievers to never give up a run. This team is too reliant on Williams and Hader due to an inept offense that rarely gives the team an easy win.
  5. I haven't checked the schedules lately but I saw a week or two ago that the Cardinals had the weakest remaining schedule. If they take advantage of the scheduling edge we may hard pressed to even lock down a wild card spot. Hopefully the front office sees the writing on the wall and doesn't trade any of our top prospects specifically Chourio for some short term fix.
  6. Most of the players in the lineup are performing about as expected. Unless Yelich turns back the clock or Adames rediscovers who he was last season there isn't much hope for this offense. The pitching injuries have hurt big time and shown how we completely lack any depth.
  7. I'm sure someone will chime in and tell us the offense is above average but the truth is this lineup sucks and will more than likely get shutdown against any playoff type of pitching. This team is mediocre and that isn't going to change so get ready for another first round exit if we even reach the playoffs.
  8. The only reason this team even has a chance of making the playoffs is because the division sucks and St Louis is as mediocre as we are. If they make the playoffs whoever we face will be thrilled to have drawn this team.
  9. We really need to win this one with Hader, Williams, and Box probably all unavailable tomorrow.
  10. Caratini is a perfectly fine backup catcher but not a bat thats good enough to ever play first base.
  11. I'd rather bring Cain back than watch this guy.
  12. Call up Dahl and send Davis down. The guy is clearly a AAA journeyman for a reason.
  13. You would think he was hitting like Cain was with all the abuse he takes. He's definitely a better hitter than McCutchen who is untouchable to Counsell.
  14. The strikeout rate means he is likely to regress but he should face righties as long as he's putting up big numbers.
  15. Hiura has crushed right handed pitching. I'm not saying we can't upgrade from him but he takes too much blame for the offense being nothing special.
  16. Hiura gets more abuse than any other player even when facing righties.
  17. This is why Counsell has been extending the starters. Its a better option than Gustave and Kelley.
  18. We are extremely fortunate to have such great hitters.
  19. Brewers and St Louis for that matter are both extremely lucky to play in this division because neither team finishes higher than 3rd in the other two divisions.
  20. When McCutchen and Brosseau are hitting 3rd and 4th you get results like we've seen so far today.
  21. Lauer did his job now lets score some runs for the guy.
  22. It looks like its midnight and Cinderella Davis needs to go back to AAA where he belongs.
  23. Good thing we can get rid of him after the season.
  24. Ashby has to be much better than this. We can't have Burnes, Woodruff and three guys pitching terribly. Ashby and Lauer have to pick it up.
