  1. So now that Scherzer is a candidate the innings pitched thing doesn't matter any more? I have honestly never been in the IP doesn't matter camp. I personally feel (don't even "feel", the stats bear out) that Burnes deserves the W. I said the *narrative* will bear out that Scherzer is going to win. He's a bigger name, playing in LA, and he's been utterly ridiculous in the 2nd half. Those are what voters look at. Not fip, xfip, and those sorts of things. I said before, ERA is what happened. Fip, while a super useful predictive tool that helps you evaluate how a player performed and will possibly perform going forward, isn't a stat that tells you results. I don't know how much CY voters are going to lean into something like that. My belief, and I'm not saying (can't be more clear) is that Scherzer will win, though I think Burnes deserves it. Scherzer isn't an underserving winner. Just think Burnes has had a better season. Sorry, that was more commentary than a question directed at you. I get it and agree with your assessment.

  3. I was thinking Lindor is basically their Yelich. In very different terms. They have a bunch of yelichs That continue to hit second and third in the lineup.
  4. He got away with some seriously bad location. %5Battachment=0%5D Sometimes it happens that way. Burnes had a couple of those innings too.
  5. Nah, I think the offense has this one. Got a good feeling about this. The pen too for that matter.
  6. No, you don’t. Haven't they been a top 10 offense in baseball since the ASB?
  7. That's a nice notion, but no, not really. You argue like this on your Monopoly and Scrabble sites too, I suppose. Um, sure, whatever.
  8. That was a nice job of loading the bases with no one out so we could clear the pitchers spot that inning.
  9. Your post is negative, by the way. Just win, baby. Baseball is more than a game. We do know the people, albeit not well. Fans directly influence salaries and salaries influence win/loss. Fans influence home field advantages. We all play a role in this team, just so ya know. That's a nice notion, but no, not really.
  10. If I could nitpick an improvement for our big three, it would be to get a tad bit more consistent with the pitch efficiency.
  11. Question is from the IGT, but figured it seemed somewhat relevant to this topic so here's the answer... 2 HR Player | Date | Benched | Next Game Result Cain | April 7 | NO | (0-4, Loss) Vogelbach | April 18 | YES | (Win) Nottingham | May 2 | YES | (Loss) Wong | June 1 | NO | (0-2, Win) Taylor | June 1 | YES | (0-1 PH, Win) Urias | June 30 | YES | (Win) Rowdy | July 24 | NO | (1-4, Loss) Manny | July 29 | YES | (Won) Manny | August 12 | NO | (2-3, Loss) Urias | August 12 | YES | (Loss) Avisail | August 18 | NO | (0-2, Loss) Yelich | August 21 | NO | (2-5, Win) Escobar | September 10 | NO | (0-4, Win) Wong | September 12 | NO | (0-4, Loss) Manny | September 18 | YES | (Loss) Taylor | September 23 | YES | (Win) So if I counted right there have been 16 different instances of a Brewer player having a 2 HR game this year. Eight times that player has started the next game & eight times they have not. Twice two players hit 2 HR in the same game & both times one sat & one started the next game & the Brewers went 1-1 in those games. Of the eight players that did start the next game after their 2 HR game, none of them hit a HR & they went a combined 5-29 so their heat dissipated quickly with the Brewers going 2-4 in the six games where one 2 HR hitter started the next game. In the six games the one 2 HR player sat the following game the Brewers went 4-2 in those games. Too small of a sample to really draw any meaningful conclusions from, but those are the numbers. Wow, thanks for that information... So it appears that based on this season alone, you hit 2 homers in a single game, you have a 50/50 chance of being benched the next day. After a homer and a triple yesterday, should Yelich play tonight considering it is also being argued that Yelich is now a platoon player?
  12. I am a Project Manager in healthcare IT where risk is literally measured in lives and expectations are always high. My job is to mitigate (really to eliminate) risk by anticipating all potential outcomes. I find it very hard to believe that one cannot shut that off while observing a game being played by people I don't know for which I have zero control, zero influence, and zero responsibility for the outcomes. There is also a very large difference between keeping expectations low and a constant flood of negativism geared toward the largely improbable potential outcomes. That isn't defensive, it's aggressive and I doubt aggressive pessimism is at all healthy.
  13. Nice try at playing the victim card but no one told you how to feel or think about anything. You, on the other hand, did by telling me to relax...which is rich beyond belief. Have fun at the game.
  14. Relax. Some of us are going to the Brewers game tonight and hoping for a rare opportunity to see the Brewers clinch a division title. So, we’re watching the Cubs-Cards game because that’s an essential part of it. You telling me to relax is the epitome of irony.
  15. Good to see the varsity doomsday cheer leading squad is out before a pitch is even thrown tonight.
