I saw a guy wearing a T'Rats T-shirt at the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimps game last night. Thought that was weird.

30 over five hundred, fourth best winning percentage in baseball, took 3/4 from the Giants, 11 games up in the division.... can we say the division is over now?

Hope for what? A Wild Card spot? A 10 game lead with 24 to play is very comfortable. Those teams are playing for the Wild Card and nothing more.

Rowdy has been fine I think. He's still relatively young, cheap and has some upside. His solid defense at 1B has been a pleasant surprise. He's not Anthony Rizzo. Those guys are not easy to find. I'd say replacing Garcia in right will be the bigger issue.

I get feeling pessimistic, but the sheer certainty in your "sky is falling" posts is actually kinda funny. It's hysterical the amount of chicken little, sky is falling on the board in general and the IGTs in particular. I mean, I get the emotional fragility but the doomsday cheer leading is beyond absurd. You'd think some of these people have never paid any attention to a baseball season.

Umpiring is just horrible these days.

It may be a bad perception but I feel like they do this every time they come off of a West Coast trip. Takes them a game to get in it.

You're moving the goal posts with the Counsel qualifier but either way, just because he hasn't done it before doesn't mean he can't or won't do it now if needed.

If a pitcher has been prepping to start tomorrow they aren’t going to suddenly rush him in to pitch tonight. The starters have routines they go through to get prepared to start, including throwing in between starts. No point messing that up to chase after this game. A couple of the back end relievers are going to have to step up. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that a starter entered a game when needed in between starts.
