  1. They're 2.5 up on the Reds and 4 up on the Padres. They're probably handling this better than some Brewerfans are. Truth.
  2. I'm seeing Wainwright for today with Happ on Sunday. So the Cards get to deal with Peralta, Woody Houser and Burnes.
  3. Kolten, Avisail & Manny all went deep on September 12. Plus two off days this week. Offense is fine.
  4. The Brewers were frustrating for a couple two tree weeks there in May, but ever since the Adames trade they've been pure entertainment. Love that San Francisco is having the season everyone was so sure San Diego was going to have after they "won" the offseason. They are only two games behind the Dodgers in the loss column. I think that is within "sniff" range. Only one behind the Rays in the loss column. Five behind the Giants which seems a bit more insurmountable but there are some interesting series coming up for those teams in the NL races so who knows. Since the break I think only the Rays have a better record than the Brewers. The Brewers really are right there with the best teams in baseball. Honestly, probably one less COVID outbreak from being right there with the Giants.
  5. He's not wrong Yes he is. I get teased about things I did 30 years ago within my circle of friends. That doesn't mean my friends were offended by those things. The notion that someone can't find something ridiculous (or just factually incorrect) without being offended by that thing is just wrong.
  6. And alot of them done with four pitchers, one with six. I wonder if anyone here would wet themselves just as much over those. To anyone here I offended by not being excited about a multi pitcher kissing your sister no hitter, I'm sorry. Sorry we offended you for being excited by a no hitter. Absolutely no one was offended by your position. The responses were people being baffled and feeling sorry for you for not being able to enjoy a no hitter because it didn't fit your narrow definition of a no hitter. Feel how you want to feel about it. There are others that agree with you and many that don't. So what?
  7. Heck yeah. I love team cycles. It was still a not hitter whether you like it or not.
  8. Give the trophy to Buehler. Burnes has been the better pitcher and the world knows it.
  9. CBS Sports home page as well. I'm starting to think they did actually throw a no hitter tonight.
  10. At this pace, it is very possible that the division could be clinched by sometime next weekend. After that, I couldn't care less what the Reds do. In fact, I wouldn't mind them sneaking in and grabbing a Wild Card spot, as they'd be taking it from an actual good team. The Cardinals are pretty bad this year, but that possible Cardinals playoff juju still scares me. I think we start to see some short starts and "Sunday" lineups from here on out. Time to start getting things lined up to the extent they need to be.
  11. Bucks had thousands of fans outside during the PLAYOFFS. This wasn't happening during the regular season. Football games are once a week so yeah, they tend to sell out regularly. It may not be there in your orbit, but it is in mine.
  12. There are many factors influencing attendance right now. I'm not sure that is a great indicator of enthusiasm right now. You also have to consider that the last few years have been close races. This one just isn't. The post season is a lock right now. Everyone is gearing up for the playoffs now. I wouldn't expect the same level of intensity when the division was locked up weeks ago essentially.
  13. Bart Winkler is kinda the king of the hot take sports talk shock jock idiots. This reaction isn't surprising. He is the definition of a casual baseball fan. Except this isn't a hot take. Combined no hitters are just not any fun, especially when your starter Ks 14, allows one walk, and you have one of the best closers in baseball coming in fresh. There was no doubt Hader wouldn't give up a hit. My younger son who pretty much permanently lives in his room came out just to watch the last two innings. He got the significance of the moment and certainly didn't think the fact that it was combined in any way cheapened the moment. He was certainly excited and that is all that really matters to me.
  14. Cain's catch was way better. Yount's dive was almost completely unnecessary and almost theatrical. What about Jace Peterson's catch??? I turned to my wife when Cain made that catch and said it was better than Yount's.
  15. How many hits did the Indians have tonight? That's what I thought. The Brewers just pitched a no-hitter. Yes it counts. If you choose not to acknowledge it, that's on you. But history will disagree. I think every one of us would have loved to see Burnes come out in the 9th. But the realist in many of us knew that wasn't going to happen. There was absolutely no way they were going to let Burnes pitch 130+ pitches. It just isn't the way the game is played anymore. The game has evolved. i don't know about anyone else but I dream of a world series and appreciate the steps the Brewers have taken to ensure the pitching staff is being handled in a way that makes that more likely. Even if those decisions only mean and infinitesimal improvement in the odds. Sacrificing team and career milestones is the definition of team and judging from the reaction of the team, they couldn't care less.
  16. I don't get as excited watching games as I did as a teen either. But I just watched the Brewers pitch a no hitter while standing in front of the TV next to my 12-year-old baseball crazy son, and saw him well up with tears as Omar made that final throw to 1st. Enjoyment evolves as well. Well said. My son and I were screaming as the last out was recorded. I enjoy watching my kids experience the journey. I certainly have an appreciation for the game I didn't have when I was younger. Maybe that translates to being less "excited" but I don't think so.
