Thanks for posting. It does appear that the Reds are going to backslide into the playoffs because the Padres are somehow performing even poorer than the Reds are. The Reds had a favorable schedule and did little with it. You know the Cards are looking at that series as their chance too. That is going to be a dog fight for the Reds.

The Cardinals are closer to them than they are to us. My guess is they are far more worried about holding on to that WC slot than they are about the division given the Cards are their next opponent.

The Reds were supposed to sweep the Marlins. We might have been misinformed. Were we also misinformed about the Brewers winning a series in Minnesota? Who predicted that. The only mention I remember were one warning the Twind hadn't been playing all that bad and would be a challenge and another mentioning this looked like a trap series. I think you are making a straw-man argument here.

Happy to hear we’re starting to win the trade again. A month ago there was talk that Brinson might be the better player going forward. Between that trade and getting absolutely hosed in the Grisham trade we should probably just find a new GM.

Agreed with mostly. I'm ok with giving Rowdy some opportunities, with the understanding that the answer at 1B in the future might not be him. Pretty weak IMO to ask after one homerun if the "Rowdy whiners" will stop. Rowdy may have some untapped upside, but big picture, he's been about a replacement level player for his career. He still has some proving to do to be viewed as a future 1B, and I think it's okay to speculate that there may be better options at 1B going forward. It's eqaually weak to say the honeymoon is over after a 30 AB sample size as you did in the IGT the other day.

Well, minimum objective was to win the series and didn't do that. Disappointing but not a disaster either.

Its nice that even with the DH we can still have pitcher caliber hitters in the lineup....so we have that going for us.

Yeah, at this point I think Reds fans are going to be following a lot more Padres games than Brewers games over the next 5 weeks. Redszone is apoplectic. Basically the Brewers are cheating because we have good pitchers and a bunch more sour grapes drivel.
