  1. Forearm tightness. That can be bad. https://climbingtalshill.com/2014/03/21/tommy-john-surgery-draft/ Very bad I really wanted the Brewers to sign Darvish. Glad they didn't at this point.
  2. I know I left specifically because of you.
  3. But you talk out of both sides of your mouth. You can't talk up how generational talents like Yelich and Hiura and Grisham are and then say the offense sucks. Yes I can. There not mutually exclusive. 3 good hitters doesn’t make an offense good, obviously, since it’s not good with all 3 in it. Of course you can. You're entitled to your opinion.......even if it's wrong.
  4. Except the offense isn't terrible. It isn't what we had hoped for but it isn't terrible. Our pitching on the other hand is terribe and you have defended that pitching well into the second half of the season. Stating the truth is most definitely not why you get "mocked" around here. See, “But the brewers offense isn’t terrible” is ridiculous, it’s the worst offense with RISP in the League. Outside of hitting home runs they don’t score. Their offense is soooooooo bad vs Lefties it’s become a recurring joke. Come on now. I don't think you understand what "ridiculous" means. If you did you would understand the massive level of irony in you using that word. They may be bad with RISP but that doesn't make the offense bad in totality. You're just wrong.

  6. I think our little experiment of a rotation full of soft tossers has proven this point. You don't need it, but it sure helps.
  7. Seriously? If you get busted 3 times for drunk driving, how many times do you think he did it without getting busted? 10, 20, 100 times? More? 3 DUIs is for 100% certainty, a drinking problem. So maybe he made the bad decision to drive after drinking a lot of times and only got caught 3. But it's a decision thing, it's not a drinking problem thing. I'd bet pro athletes are out getting hammered often on non-gamedays, I'd bet a lot drink a heck of a lot more than Jung Ho Kang...they just don't drive and nobody knows. How do you know it's not a drinking problem thing? Most people tend to learn after the first time they get busted. Those that don't, by and large, have a drinking problem. This guy didn't get it and his willingness to put other people's lives in danger (twice more) because he has A DRINKING PROBLEM is beyond reprehensible particularly when there are plenty of available alternatives. I would be willing to bet that if he'd killed your family while driving drunk you'd have a pretty different perspective on the issue. In any case, I have no use for the guy and I'd much rather be on the self righteous side of this issue than on the cavalier side. If that makes me self righteous, then damn right I'm self righteous.
  8. I think I put that one more on Thames. Not a great throw, obviously, but it still should have been an out.
  9. Exactly, which is why I don't pay much attention to the "our system is ranked last" stuff. If may be low on talent now but a lot of that has to do with the number of guys we are putting in the majors the last two or three years.
  10. I have to say ... between what Williams has done this season, and Grisham's success, it's really nice to see a few of these former high round picks paying off. Perhaps things just clicked for Williams this year. So far so good. Patience. Development arch are not universally similar. This board is very quick to proclaim bust or superstar with these young players instead of just letting them develop at their own pace.
  11. I really, really want one of these non-needle movers to become a needle mover because I think that would move the needle on our postseason expectations.
  12. I get the feeling you're going to be disappointed after this deadline passes.
  13. Hell, they might be better than the Brewers... Bauer - Castillo - Gray is light years ahead of what we are throwing out there right now.
  14. I don’t think that’s true, isn’t Bauer a free agent after next season? Correct
  15. No, I agree with that assessment. I think you're spot on and that was more of a follow up comment to yours. I'd have no problem with Davies as a four on a good pitching staff. Having said that, he is being asked to be a two due to failing to acquire more adequate pitching......which is not his fault.
  16. that’s exactly what he is The problem is, with the exception of Woodruff, that pretty much describes four of our starters. That level of inconsistency is what prevents this team from going on an extended winning streak.
  17. No room for error. He has to be perfect or he gets hit hard. That kind of pitcher is going to be inconsistent and unfortunately we have more than our share of that type of pitcher.
  18. So many of our pitching prospects have excelled in the pen as opposed to the rotation. Started with Hader, now Peralta, Houser, even Burnes with more success in the pen. Financially would be more productive if these guys settle into the rotation at some point, but sure looks good as relievers now. Agreed but good pen arms are expensive too. But yes, they need to figure out how to get that talent to translate to starting pitching.
  19. Lol, I never heard anyone ever ever ever say or insinuate wins in September count differently then April. Or maybe I missed that. Lots of strawmanning. Thanks tho. It's just my opinion, a relatively mild one too. I thought you only talked baseball and didn't engage with people who offered strawman arguments? Or was that a strawman argument?
  20. Excellent review. I really only get to see the Mudcats in person so it is great when someone can explain the reasons behind a breakout campaign. It makes it much easier to get excited about a player when there are tangible reasons for such a breakout.
