  1. I was adamantly pleading to get Shaw out of the lineup but his days as are starter are only numbered this year if Hiura mashes. Moose is a mutual option, likely opt out. 3b is wide open. Thames is a club option with a 1 mil buyout. No one would argue that Shaw is worse than Thames when Shaw is right. Shaw's got 2 arby left and likely will stay sub 5mil next year if this season ends up with some time in AAA. Shaw is the cheaper (more versatile) 1b platoon mate for Aguilar Shaw is the most likely starting 3b in 2020 Shaw can play 2b to rest Hiura. If they keep Moose, every day is a stretch but other than back up SS ABs, Shaw will get them all and likely see 400 ab between 1b 2b and 3b and random DH when its not Braun. That only works if Thames is moved.....and he should be.
  2. Thames to DL would seem to fit. That would give them a logical preview of how the roster would work with Hiura and without Thames.
  3. Good thing they have 119 to go after this then. If there is one thing this board has down pat its small sample size, over hyperbolic, hot takes.
  4. That's cool. You're entitled to think my plan is odd. I really don't care what you think about it. I think you're obsession with this conversation is weird but you don't see me going nuts over it.
  5. Thames gotta go, I'm sure we can get a relief pitcher for him. Got 3 lottery tickets for Lind, got Aguilar off waivers, but Thames is bad and we can get a reliever for him. You two make such a cute couple and I don't care what they say about that.
  6. Cool. I respect your opinion and will not jump all over your back because you have that opinion, with which I disagree.
  7. No, they won't be battling each other right now for PT if Hiura comes up. He clearly wants to move Shaw to the backup 1b and play Moose at 3rd. He doesn't realize that limits Shaw's possible defensive impact and lessens his Dwar. His Owar is terrible right now so he wants to CAN a guy who has career 821 ops vs RHP because he's sure Shaw will be just fine. Yeah, pretty much. Except the canning part. Use him to get something we need like another high leverage pen arm. I don't think that precludes Shaw from also getting innings at third and second. Not sure the DWAR argument holds water there.
  8. No, they won't be battling each other right now for PT if Hiura comes up. T[sarcasm]rue, Thames would be gone.[/sarcasm]
  9. That's fine. I'll take the guy with the better track record. You can take the "what have you done for me lately approach" There is room for more than one opinion. You talk like Shaw and Thames play the same position and are battling each other for PT right now. If Hiura comes up, they will be.
  10. You can keep repeating that line but that is a small part of why I think what I think. Nice try though.
