  1. If Hiura is sent down it won't be for long. I don't know how the fan base would take. I just don't think there is an easy answer given everyone being healthy. If Hiura is sent down it will instantly be for too long. Granted, but its more complex then that. I don't think anyone really wants to send Hiura down, including the Brewers brass but there are scenarios.

  3. I know, I say this every time but Shaw has 2 options left. Taking him off the IL to a demotion is not giving up on him. It's giving him time to get right. Logically you're correct but there is no player in world with Shaw's track record that is going to see it that way and that has repercussions beyond this year.
  4. No he's not. It's not hard at all. It's like the Braves thinking of sending out Riley. Agreed. This is not a hard decision. You have a young high end prospect hitting well versus multiple veterans hitting terribly. I'd think if he were hitting poorly it would be a much easier decision. Thus, hitting well is making it a hard decision was my point. Having said that, there is more to it than just performance and if he isn't past super two, he is going down until he is, almost guaranteed. And even then, who goes? They need Shaw in the future, they aren't just going to tell him oh well and option him.
  5. I’ve considered it before. I really wanted the Brewers to break the bank for Yu Darvish. I was certain Arcia was going to have a breakout, all-star season last year. Burnes would be one for me this year. I was convinced he was going to break out his year.
  6. The cost is a consideration but I'm thinking you can get a right handed platoon bat for not much prospect capital. Did not cost much to get Moose last year. Something along that line would be fine with me. I'm thinking some sort of weird platoon with Shaw and Thames can't be worse than Aguilar has been. Maybe it could. Perez is an outside the box answer maybe. It's a tricky situation for sure unless Shaw starts raking.
  7. As someone point out, his defense is a ready made narrative to do so. I think service time might play a roll as well if they are not certain he is past super two. They may be trying to play this out until the deadline and then bring Hiura back up. Who knows but there are certainly scenarios. They may try to do that, but I think everyone involved knows that's the wrong way to go. We need all the offense we can get since we can't play defense or pitch. I saw the stats outside of guys 1,2, etc. but those guys are still pitching for the major league club for some unknown reason. We continually get close to making a run and horrible pitching and defense drag us right back down. Be bold, Stearns. That's exactly the point. You can cherry pick out certain periods of time with the pitching but those guys are still part of this teams depth and they are going to pitch big league innings for this team. Even with the holes in the offense this is still a good offense. The pitching isn't all that good period. The ONLY reason I would send Hiura down is if we haven't missed super two. It think that is legit.
