  1. Should get quite a bit. He’s been a very good manager all year even if it doesn’t read that way around here. +1
  2. If this team doesn't make it, the domination of the Pirates is going to be a big reason why.
  3. Exactly! All this angst about which team ends up where is something I can't get my head around.
  4. I get it, but that's putting a lot of faith in the Cubs to continue playing good ball with some quality opponents coming up. That pen is in shambles. I guess they could pull it together, but the Brewers are in a much better place right now, record withstanding. I don't know about that. The Cubs are up three games in the loss column. I'd rather be in their position than ours right now.

I guess they could pull it together, but the Brewers are in a much better place right now, record withstanding. It isn't a must win but losing a series to a team that is out of it makes things harder. Go get 'em tomorrow and all will be well.
  6. Well, this certainly qualifies as a stinker. Particularly with everyone else winning (except maybe the Rockies).
  7. There are just some games where they cannot get out of their own way.
  8. I feel like they just consciously ignored what I said. Perhaps there was some confusion? Brewers, I was referring to you. That should take care of it in the next half inning. Yelich is so good he can hit 'em where they are and still get hits. The rest of the gang is having trouble with the concept to hitting.
  9. Six innings to score at least one run against Nova and that pen. [sarcasm]Which looks like a tall order at this point.[/sarcasm]
  10. Six innings to score at least one run against Nova and that pen.
  11. Other teams rotations don’t walk guys? Man, what is Stearns thinking. He should go get those guys. Obviously every pitcher walks batters, that isn't what I meant. A quick look at the BB/9 number for the rotations on contending teams shows most have at least one guy that manages to walk less than 3+ batters per nine innings. Most have more than one. We don't have a single pitcher currently in the rotation that fits that category. So yes, our guys walk a few more batters than other teams rotations and that is something we have to live with.
  12. Walks are just something you have to live with if this is the rotation you are going to put out there.
  13. The Cardinals sure can trot a whole lot of meh out of that bullpen.
  14. The only question is whether Colorado can hold off the Cards. Arizona is just close enough in that division to still be a factor there too.
  15. Colorado may go to Chicago though. I think the central is still in doubt.
  16. I agree that the Dodgers make it in one way or another. I just don't see the Rockies being good enough to hold on to the division. I think it's the Rockies or Cards for the second WC. If the Dodgers are going to get in, might as well bury the Cards on the way.
  17. I can see the Cubs fans being a little upset about it. Brewers fans are not exclusuve in questioning mangagerial decisions... Not even close! I'm talking about the national "pundit" uproar.
  18. Carpenter out of the Cards lineup and Rizzo out of the Cubs lineup both for a "breather". Will we see he same fervent uproar as when Yelich sat a day? I highly doubt it.
