  1. I live in Raleigh (or a southern suburb of Raleigh really) and we are expecting to get hit late Thursday in to early Friday morning. I would think that starting at 4 would give them time but if they moved it up to 1, I think they get it in with no issues. Stay safe! All the models are pointing to a direct hit on NC. Keeps getting worse every time I look. Even this far inland it looks like we are going to see it hit as a cat 1 hurricane. Near panic has set in here. Having said that, it looks like the forecast was pushed back so I see no reason they don't play in Washington on Thursday.

  3. I would strongly argue that we should be more concerned about the Cardinals than any NL West team. I specifically want the 1st wildcard if we can't win the division. Going into St Louis or LA for a 1 game playoff would be extremely tough. I think the Braves, Cubs, Brewers and all three west coast teams are better than the Cardinals. The Cards may have a schedule advantage that allows them to sneak in but right now I'd guess the D'Backs end up on the outside looking in with Colorado traveling to Milwaukee or Chicago for the WC game.

  5. Atlanta jumps ahead on a 3 run bomb by Inciarte. D'Backs pitchers throwing home run derby in the ninth.

  7. Cubs fans are convinced the Brewers are going to win the division and it's all because MLB screwed them over with decision making on weather and postponement delays. Yea, cuz why would MLB want one of it's biggest cash cows front and center in the playoffs.
  8. I'm a Brewer fan. I'm worried about the Reds.
  9. An Atlanta win would look nice today yet. Philly looks to be out of gas.
  10. Schoop, no question.

  12. I'm the furthest thing from a cub fan, but it's bs they waited that long to call the game before rescheduling. Should have been called this morning, actually. Also, I hope scherzer makes that thursday start on normal rest! They had to try. I'm sure playing this game late was a better option than having to fly to Washington and back in the middle of a home stand, that is not ideal.

  14. #gonzalace oooohhhh, good work there.
  15. Regardless of how it gets managed, when you basically have to play everyday for a month straight due to early season rainouts your pen is going to suffer at the end of it. That's what the Cubs are dealing with now. Not getting Morrow back really has gassed the group of arms the Cubs rely on to lock down games. They've been able to slug their way to a few wins and get some solid starting pitching overall during this stretch, otherwise the division race would already be a toss-up between the Cubs and Brewers at this point. Just not having a day off where a team doesn't have to even show up to the park and think about picking up a baseball makes a huge difference. I see your point but I'm not sure I'm buying that theory given that rosters have been expanded for over a week now.
  16. Woo hoo! Almost feels like we should have a separate IGT for all non-brewer games as we move into the stretch run. Thoughts on that? I approve!
  17. This is an interesting dichotomy. Maddon is essentially doing the anti-Counsell in that he is using his primary relief pitchers as often as possible but using them for shorter stints. It seems that the Cubs pen is the one that is wearing down. One of you numbers guys can verify that but that seems to be what is happening.
