  1. I don't live anywhere near Milwaukee but when I'm there and they are playing, I do buy tickets. I just watched two games in DC and "MVP" chants for Yelich and "Let's Go Brewers" chants during those games were no less embarrassing for Nats fans. I spend money every year so I can watch every game as someone who lives out of the viewing area. I do my part.
  2. The Cubs play in a city that has literally over 6x the times the population of Milwaukee and is only 90 minutes away (less for people on the far north side). This is not embarrassing it's geography. In my opinion, it's embarrassing.
  3. Couldn't disagree more strongly. Historically Davies averages less than six innings per start just like Anderson/Chacin/Gonzalez/Miley/Peralta and who ever else you want to put in that group of interchangeable pieces with average stuff. Every one of them is just as likely to have a bad start as a good one every single time out, just zero consistency. None of them have been truly horrible, but none of them are ever going to be great consistently. To me, a nice 1-2-3 is Greinke, Gallardo and Marcum and we don't have anything close to that. We have a whole lot of Randy Wolf. Nelson-Burnes-Chacin-Woodruff-Anderson is what I'm hoping for. Peralta is your sixth and then sign a couple of depth guys to stash in AAA. Do what ever is prudent with the rest of chaff. At least that rotation (assuming Nelson recovers) has some upside. Obviously depth matters and option years play into that. However, I don't think there is any chance that a player having options is the determining factor in deciding who will or won't be in the rotation.
  4. Really? 3 games back with more than 20 games to play doesn’t change things? Sure, just not dramatically.
  5. Hopefully that was an audition for the rotation spot between the two of them. The evidence is clear in my mind.
  6. The Brewers are six out in the loss column assuming both teams hold on to their leads today. Even if we sweep then they are still three out in the loss column. It doesn't change things all that dramatically.
  7. That's the problem in a nutshell though. We have all these interchangeable pitchers who are just as likely to have a good start as a bad one every single time out. These guys are all interchangeable bits and pieces. They have no stopper, no one the opposition fears when they are on the mound every time they are on the mound. Offensive upgrades aren't that hard to find for relatively cheap during the season. The thing they need (and have trying to get since the 2017 deadline) is high end starting pitching.
  8. That was my reaction. I don't understand it at all.
  9. Also a good number of Brewers fans in the stadium. Not only people living near DC. Nice to see for us East Coast based fans. First time for watching a game at nationals park. I thought there were a ton of Brewer fans at the game. The hotel we are staying at has a whole bunch. In my opinion the rain never got to the point of calling it a down pour. It was more than a mist but not too much more. Of all the parks I've been to this one is right up there. Really cool overall experience in and around the park. The Aguilar homer went directly over our heads and landed several rows behind us. I do have to say that it seems like every reliever brings drama to the mound lately. Maybe that's just me but that is my current point of frustration with this team. Still, a very nice win and I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow.
  10. If this is snarky......... Then what is this.......... It's snarky, it's unnecessary, it's not constructive, it's negatively repetitive in both substance and behavior, it literally fits every single criteria set forth in this thread with regard to what will not be tolerated. I understand, and applaud, what the MODs are trying to do here but in my opinion it's wrong to call out a specific poster publicly but let others ride. That cuts against the very grain of what you're trying to accomplish. For the record, I have no problem with either of the posts above or the people who made them. Just my .02 cents.
  11. I know the experience he's getting is good. Just tough to give it to him with a playoff-contending team. I trust Peralta more than just about anybody else currently starting games for this team.
  12. I now hope they get swept and still make the postseason. Because saying they can't lose this series to the Reds is crazy talk. What is the difference between getting swept today and getting swept in four games on June 21-24? We don't know what other teams are going to do the next month or ourselves. Now can we keep losing series? NO! We gotta start winning games, but these games mean just as much as the ones in September. We hold a postseason spot no matter what methodology you want to use. Saying we HAVE to win games when there are over 20+ to go doesn't make any sense. How we do against the Reds is just wins and losses, nothing more meaningful. It is the overall record that really matters. The Dodgers have the best run differential in the entire NL and aren't even in a postseason slot. Wins and losses...don't care against who for either as long as it is good enough for a postseason spot. I didn't mean "can't" as in it eliminates them from something. I meant "can't" as in good teams should win series like this at this time of year.
  13. Now seven behind the Cubs in the loss column for the division and two behind in the loss column to the Cards for the second wild card. Tied in the loss column with Arizona and Colorado. Dodgers within one and Phillies two in the loss column. Say what you want about a lot of time being left but they simply cannot lose a series to a bad team at this point. With football starting it won't take long for the apathy to set in.
