  1. Hey now, he tried really hard and he really meant to make the team better. We weren't even supposed to be good yet so none of this even counts really. The future is bright.
  2. Well, I've certainly been converted. I am now 100% an optomist.
  3. double or nothing we don't score another run in this game?
  4. If he goes another inning without giving up an earned run he gets credit for a quality start. Do we get a quality win then?
  5. See, now you are in the spirit of things. I may be an eternal optimist, but you can't ignore blatant trends. EXACTLY!
  6. LOL pretty convenient to say after their worst defensive inning in probably a decade. When they are on, you're dang right this is a playoff caliber team. This kind of stuff has been happening for a while, just not all in the same inning. My stance on this team has been consistent for quite some time now so this isn't a knee jerk reaction.
  7. How does anyone look at this team and say, yeah that's what a playoff team looks like.
  8. Well, he did put the runners on in the first place.
  9. Did you ever play Little League? I was a 3X All-Star in that and Pony League thanks to my old Coach Cooper. It's too bad he died early from lung cancer because I always thought he could manage better than 1/2 the MLB managers today. I highly doubt that the Cubs organization signs a youngster without looking at their past social media history. Let me guess, best days of your life?

Ouch!
  11. Except we don't control our own destiny. The Brewers trail five teams in the loss column right now. That is one for every playoff spot. We need at least one of those teams to help us and lose more games than we do.
  12. 2-0 is pretty daunting with Cy Baily on the hill. We'll be lucky to pull this one out.
