  1. Nah, not a team we need to worry about.
  2. Totally agree but there is an equal chance he gives you nothing. I am not opposed to making the move, I just think they need some proven hitters.
  3. If Hiura was in the plan, he'd be up by now. Black may or may not hit at the big league level. They need to trade for some bats and hopefully not give up Black.
  4. I doubt it we see anything until the deadline. That would have happened by now.
  5. Not a single competitive at bat in the 9th.
  6. Fortunately we aren't supposed to be worried about them.
  7. It does for those who only got into one game.
  8. apparently that bar is much, much lower than that.
  9. Then find a way to add a couple of bats and now you got something.
  10. That is not a rule. There are plenty of rookies having far more offensive success than Joey is. There are also plenty of rookies that have come up, struggled, got sent down and then returned and been very productive players. Still more have been platooned at some point in their early careers. Nobody is saying Joey will never be a good everyday player, just saying he isn't right now. Every game thread points out how awful this offense is. I don't see why there is such a resistance by a few to a pretty obvious upgrade.
  11. I don't care what the Yankees are doing or not doing with Volpe but that doesn't change the fact that there is a legitimate argument that Weimer should be platooned.
  12. This team, supposedly, is not in rebuild/development mode. If he isn't ready to hit in the major leagues he shouldn't be there.
  13. If you're just going to sit the guy for a few games to "clear his head" then they should have sent him down. With the off day he would have missed maximum of 11 games and probably less to gain that year. Sending a guy down because he can't hit is not service time manipulation.
  14. The eye test says they don't have to locate particularly well and the numbers back it up. The "hack at everything" approach he brings is going to need to drastically change before he can be called a cornerstone piece for the future. I don't know if he will ever get there and there have always been questions about this with Joey coming up the minors. He may get there but there is some over the top talk about Joey being a "cornerstone" and what not. Maybe he will be, but he hasn't earned that yet.
  15. Why? The numbers certainly suggest a platoon would be appropriate.
  16. This board has complained near unanimously not matter who is in the clean up spot. We are not exactly swimming with options.
