  1. Sounds like a mix up to me...I can't believe they let folks run tabs as easy as it is to leave.
  2. Hu hit about .400/.500 last year in AA, at 23. He's a solid prospect, no doubt.
  3. Olney is the only one saying it has been restructured, and he was likely wrong earlier. He seems well behind.
  4. I would assume CC will pitch Tuesday, as that's when he's prepping to start. Also, it could be Bush removed from the rotation.
  5. Blanton has been said to require a Haren like deal, several very good prospects. Maybe his price will go down, but right now, with a 6ish ERA, not much interest.
  6. Hall is still an important, if not vital, part of the Brewers. He adds depth at many spots, and hits LHP's very well. As for the Dodgers, the idea of a team contending for a playoff spot trading a veteran SP like Lowe is unheard of. Weakening one spot to improve another is not what a team a couple games out of contention wants to do. also, Hall has not played SS since '06 and has been error prone at 3B...and has not hit very well. That's a mighty tough sell to LA fans.
  7. Gord said the other day they would look at prospects who "are blocked", so Laporta is considered blocked, though that may open up by '09 or '10. Green as well, and Cain has several OF's in front of him. It sounds as if Escobar is untouchable...while Hardy's name has shown up in rumors...that seems to speak volumes about the future.
  8. Not taking up all the prime space off the interstate they don't. Milwaukee is stuck in the 60's, hoping they'll need 'em again soon.
  9. That's more than they're offering now. Doug is not going to bicker with himself. They have an offer, and we'll see if they'll take it.
  10. Apple-ton is nicer than many AAA parks, and they do a nice job.
  11. Recte, people seem to forget Seth was used often in the 7th inning late in '07. As Maddux says, they define their own role.
  12. If a SP is brought in, either Stetter will go down or Bush. To say they have no use for a RP coming off a rough stretch is an understatement. If two are, both will.
  13. Errecart K's once every 4 AB's versus guys who rarely throw a breaking ball for a strike. If he does make it, his rise will be slow.
  14. Laporta for CC and 2 high draft picks? I wish.
  15. This sounds like a handshake agreement may already be in place.
  16. The Crew could lose their 1st round pick if they sign someone. You don't "lose" comp picks. They do have to offer arby, so it is unlikely they'll get them for anyone other than Sheets and CC.
  17. Maddux would add depth, which has been overlooked to this point because no one has gone down since Yo. He seems like he'd be a solid 5-6 inning guy, and as a 4th/5th starter, he'd be very solid.
  18. Club teams play anyone they can get a game with. Some take it seriously, some don't.
  19. TOR has released Thomas and Reed Johnson about money. I doubt they can afford Hall.
  20. Patrick, I agree, but Milwaukee "city leaders" have no understanding of how to get rid of the plethora of abandoned warehouses, I doubt they have a lot of plans on building a new arena. I doubt if they can spell a-r-e-n-a, to be honest.
  21. Briggs, I have not heard a word about Washburn. SEA may not have him on the market, or maybe ownership has not given the interim GM permission to deal him. Talk about a team that needs to be blown up...they seem more concerned with marketing to Japan than rebuilding. How is Sexson still on that team?
  22. Neither is the correct answer. Nelson might have a Mark Sweeney like utility career, however.
  23. He managed to get through it by K'ing 6 and only walking one. He also got very unlucky with some IF hits. Things tend to balance out.
  24. Salome, Gillespie, Braddock, and Dillard might just be enough. I can't see anyone else offering much more, though someone might give two top guys, like the Sox with Lowrie and one other.
