  1. I would not trade any of my top 7 or so, as cheap young talent is vital for a small market team. Bedard has been a huge letdown, but as pointed out, has not been bad by any means. As long as you're talking about SEA, I might offer them a handful of magic beans.
  2. Danzig, why bother with an agent if you're not going to listen to their advice?
  3. No place for Bray in the Crew bullpen. He'll be about #16 in a couple weeks.
  4. I think it's obvious MLB teams do not care if their players get drunk before games, only if they are ineffective and/or start embarrassing the team. Sidney should have stayed in his room and utilized the mini-bar. {insert large black man saying "For $13, I be a macadamia nut" here.} Little doubt he'll be signed soon either.
  5. TLB is correct, I meant Scottie.
  6. Terms reached with 23, per Adam, including 2nd round P...Hintz?
  7. link to Harrington's Wiki page...nice advice, Mr. Boras. I'd hire my dog to negotiate before Stevie.
  8. Varitek and Drew were both drafted numerous times before they finally signed...they managed to delay their free agency, when the big money is finally available...brilliant.
  9. If I want to place an ad, I have to use company approved stuff...which is literally a decade out of date.
  10. Long John Silvers is yummy, but everything is fried. Taco Bell does put out good campaigns, they are very popular among youngsters.
  11. 1. Swing has to be before the ump calls it a ball. 2. Time would be called right away. 3. You can keep getting drafted until you're 30 if you wish. Of course, you'd be an idiot.
  12. I've never paid for a phone, and all mine have worked fine.
  13. The Brewers have lost 2 games in which they have led going into the 9th, and Mota pitched the 9th in one of them. Simply put, the math above is incorrect, and nothing more needs to be said.
  14. McClung is making me look like a genius for saying how well he has pitched except for that one game early when he was asked to take one for the team, way back in early April. Other than his fatigue issues in the 5th of his first couple starts (see Joba for how hard it is to go 5 right away), he's been simply astounding. Time will tell if he's able to continue this once the scouting reports are issued and such, but right now, he's proof that when in doubt, go with the guy who is pitching the best, and worry about the rest later. As for Weaver, he would not be replacing Seth if he were brought up. As Rev Jackson would say, this question is moot.
  15. The Milwaukee Journal from that day has very little value. I would imagine a SF paper would have some. I framed Yount's HOF section. I would think it may have a small value to a Yount or HOF collector, maybe $5-10. I read a couple years ago that the NY 9/11 papers, even the special editions, are all but shunned. One guy said he puts them out at shows and gets several comments of disgust, and never sells more than 1-2...but often, a few folks order one through the mail later, afraid to get buy one in person.
  16. I don't think there's much wrong with the dam, very minor if anything. The water eroded the land and road, from what I understand, and just washed it away.
  17. Lake Delton will be as good as new soon...it was man made once, and will be again. I believe they said they had to fill it in 1983 due to draining, it only took 14 days, and they did it slowly. I believe Gov. Doyle said he hoped they could get it back in 30 days, but the consensus seems to be late Fall or next Spring. And the Berry quote above is true...anything you build on it will eventually need to be replaced. The Colorado River made the Grand Canyon, water is a powerful force.
  18. Dillon can do what Morgan can. If you had a spot open, I would be happy to take him.
  19. With Riske and Gagne due back shortly, they have little need for Stetter. He was so bad when he lost it, he won't earn an immediate call back, until needed.
  20. Cruz's problem seems apparent, his long swing makes it tough for him to hit a good breaking ball. He might have a future as a platoon guy...or maybe even as a CF. He needs someone to give him 500 AB's and see what happens.
  21. TOR has a nice cheap team, but has made some odd moves based on $, Thomas and Reed Johnson being two. Whenever money is a major focus, some strange transactions will take place.
  22. Pierre is a major league quality player, but he is far from an everyday LF. He's not a very good everyday CF, especially when you see him throw a ball. He's simply been overused because of his one useful skill. As a 5th OF, he's outstanding. As a LF, I can name 50 better options...75 if you let me glance at the fellas in the minors.
  23. I can't egt excited over any reliever, as the Crew is fine now, have Stetter in AA, and 2 guys coming off the DL soon, probably. Trade for another reliever? Don't see it.
  24. TB loves Bartlett, as he is very good defensively. I don't see them trading for a SS.
