  1. What's funny is, they are playing at a 100 win pace, and all anyone talks about is how badly they're playing. It's both odd and ironic.
  2. Extra innings are mostly luck, with some good bullpen work thrown in. They tend to even out.
  3. I miss White Castle, cheap and yummy. We had a frat house in Eau Claire (1404 State!) that 2 guys always ordered their garlic bread well done. For about 2 weeks, they would call the next time and say it wasn't done enough and to "burn it". Finally, the manager sent out an order that looked like 2 large pieces of charcoal...they never ordered again, to my knowledge.
  4. CLE will be right in the race, so CC will not move. Blanton would be a good guess.
  5. The 3 mentioned would be the first ones utilized.
  6. They need to keep finding seats, that's for sure. May look at adding a few rows on the field level, as I don't see many other places to go.
  7. Manny certainly looks like he'll go down, though I'm not sure why they wouldn't have added Stetter by sending him down, unless something else is up.
  8. I have a killer sore throat this AM...I might have to go to urgent care.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I gargle with Listerine, it takes the edge off for 15-60 minutes, depending on how bad it is. I have used Airborne and it doesn't hurt. It might shorten it or make you get a lesser cold. It boosts your immune system a tad.
  9. Suppan is nothing but class. I'm sure the Crew is giving him a large discount, so they should be thanked as well.
  10. HOU should be furious, as they thought he'd be 33 at the end of his deal, not now. His decline will very likely come fast and hard. As if the Astros didn't have enough problems.
  11. If they were going to send Parra or CV down, why didn't they just do that today? That's what strikes me as strange. and makes me wonder what is up.
  12. I took the gent I was working with to urgent care yesterday, and I saw people there with so many ailments that were not at all serious, it was a farce. Every single person that answered the question "what are you here for?" said something that made me reply in my head, "What are you doing here"? Drink a lot of fluids, get some rest, and take something that works for you. It's a cold, they aren't serious.
  13. Tom H has called this a falsehood, and that the Brewers have no interest in moving, in a forwarded e-mail I received.
  14. Considering Rickie's walk totals, I wish more of the team batted exactly like him.
  15. The Brewers are an above average offensive team, 7th of 16 teams. I think I'll wait until they are at least below the league norm before jumping off the ledge. The small sample police are out in force. It's really a shame, as less than 10% of the season has gone by.
  16. I don't know if this is it, but people do have businesses in which they pick up doggy doo from your yard.
  17. Danzig, your nachos are just crying out for some onions.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. Heck, you don't even need a lefty in the bullpen, as long as you have quality pitchers. In a 5 or 7 game series, you can easily make the argument for lefties, but over 162, I'd much rather have a group of good pitchers.
  19. The Brewers, or no other small market team will go after CC...if the Crew can afford $20M, others can pay $25-30M. I would assume it will be draft picks for Ben. With his injury history, it'd be crippling to give him market value. For the Red Sox, not so much.
  20. I love soggy chips. Nachos, cheese sauce, and oodles of beef or chicken.
  21. Next, on Cops... Spezio: I have no idea how that got there...it's not mine!!!
  22. I remember Bill rewriting that code for you. Ramblings loaded a whole lot better after he did that. I honestly just thought he did something else, like change a scheme or a color. That is so far beyond me, he may as well have split the atom.
  23. The slow gun is about 3-4 mph slower than the "fast" one. Neither is right or wrong, one just picks up the ball earlier. 90 with location is oodles better than 95 down the middle anyway. What's important is what a guy is throwing now versus earlier...if Ben is 90-92 all game, and then throws 87, 86, he's all but done...same thing if you add 4 to all the numbers.
  24. The idea of accepting a plea bargain while being not guilty is foreign to me. The fella who accepted the plea bargain felt he was saving himself, and the other person will likely be back before a judge within a year or two. Ask Tracy if this is likely, I promise you he will say "yep".
  25. I thought Team Canada was the former Batman. Bill actually rewrote some code at Ramblings for me, years ago. If he is not here, I too wish him well.
