  1. I'm not a "green" person at all, and I would never throw anything out of my car.
  2. Joe, it's a privilege because you can choose whatever games you wish, and still get season ticket discounts, playoff priority, and guaranteed seats. You don't get any of those things just walking up to the ticket office. For those extras, you usually have to buy some sort of "package", but because the Brewers have always bent over backwards for their fans, they have never pushed it.
  3. One of a dozen reasons why CS stats are very flawed. 80-90% of the time, it's the pitcher who dictates whether the catcher has a chance to throw out the runner.
  4. Coco had earned the rights to be a FA, and he chose to play elsewhere. I certainly hope he's not booed, but realize he likely will be.
  5. Mike Mercury, i said the same thing earlier in the thread. Most folks don't seem to realize that it's a privilege to get to pick out the exact games you want, one that will (hopefully) be gone soon.
  6. Probably 28 of 30 teams will lose 6 in a row at some point. I had them behind CLE and still feel that way. They should easily win 85-92 games though.
  7. We were there last year in late March and they were power washing the 4th deck.
  8. I worked at TRU for 7 years, you might want to get a new battery/charger before declaring it dead...20 years later, there's a good chance those are shot.
  9. I would guess some of the good seats purchased on the first day of single game tiks and even now are the seats either saved for season ticket packages, or are open because another fan got them for one 20 game pack but not all.
  10. Milwaukee would have to take a step forward to be just 2 decades behind. Abandoned warehouses taking up valuable downtown space, no signs telling you where the casino is, no transit to speak of, still lacking development around Miller Park, a jewel they fought every step of the way. It's a textbook case of how not to run a metro area.
  11. The funny thing is, I remember hearing we needed to give Sexson "whatever it took" to keep him around...how would that have worked out? Sheets is unlikely to get healthy as he gets older. He's very likely gone, and a small market team really cannot risk paying him what it will take to keep him.
  12. If Ben is healthy, he'll make a ton. If he is not, no way the Brewers give him $12-15M per. I can't imagine Ben giving the Brewers that much of a discount. This is his last big contract, he'll look to cash in.
  13. I would agree the key is to win 90 games any way at all. That said, I'd say it's more important to avoid being swept than anything else.
  14. Homer, that's where we parked our cars to go to the Dome, downtown Mpls. Just blocks away is vandalism that never seems to be painted over, guys hanging out on the corner with the same "colors", and the like. Always a window or two in apartment buildings with plywood where a window would be.
  15. To me, big cities mean ghettos, grafitti, and gangs. I'm a suburb boy myself.
  16. Nothing wrong with Boca Burgers, some brands are close to 100 calories. Need to load 'em up with onions and cheese (fat free), it helps hide the unusual texture. They taste fine.
  17. I actually forgot one of my associates in the Cities, an Asian-American, her first name was Ahtit, It was pronounced without the h. One of our TV gals here in Wausau is Bao Vang, which is pronounced Bow, like the sound a dog makes. I met her back when I ran a store, she was seeking donations. I remember thinking how sad it was such a beautiful woman was named Bow.
  18. Every one of the Brewers' reserves could be a starter for a few teams, some more than others. That's a mighty good sign.
  19. To me, they should have just said Gwynn scored on the throw to the plate, just like if he would have moved to 2B. The scorers have got in the habit that they have to give an E to describe how stuff happened.
  20. If the team continues to get more popular, I would assume the fan's choice package will just go away. At the very least, certain games will not be available. To me, it makes perfect sense. If you buy a pack of 20 games for a set group of games, it seems rather simple you will get the same seats. However, if you choose just the games you want, some will be more popular than others, and the seat selection will be limited. Again, this just shows me that demand is up, which is only a good thing.
  21. Still the only part of the ARI trade I regret, as Doug has hinted at as well. Hate trading a guy when you don't know what you're giving up.
  22. Stetter and Pena could both be in the bullpen next year, and Shouse might well be as well. After this year, they will not be too worried about building one in the offseason.
  23. Lee had to slide or dive to come close to the ball. That's not anything close to an error, even at MP.
  24. In a book I read, a real person was named George Rash, and he had a brother named Richard...who ended up changing his last name to his mom's maiden name.
