  1. RW is likely correct. Crabbe is a poor man's Hernan. Little guys that cannot play all IF positions very rarely have a big league future.
  2. The idea as far as sending Parra down and back in a few days is against the rules, he has to stay down 10.
  3. I would agree with JB, he would provide a decent, if unspectacular 5th starter who is able to go more than 4-5 innings. He would also give the team back some depth they used to have before injuries. One year at $9.75M is not nearly as bad as 3-4. I believe he's been very durable as well. Of course, SEA is rumored to be going after Griffey, so they seem to be under the illusion they are in the race. EDIT: Barring having your scouts say he's done, even his last couple years of 4.32 and 4.67 ERA's are solid for the AL. Good find JB.
  4. Dillard's K numbers have been rather low, especially last year. That alone makes him a very weak major league prospect.
  5. Weaver will almost certainly get a look, as long as he's effective in AAA. Almost any arm can give you 4-5 frames. I think Weaver and McClung may both be moved to the rotation just to give others a break.
  6. As JB said, they'll hang onto him until the deadline, and see where they are at.
  7. Ticket acquired, thanks anyway.
  8. He probably had it in the JS a while back.
  9. Looking for a single ticket for Thursday's matinee game versus the Dodgers. Cheaper the better.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Will call would be best, but I might be able to pick up Wednesday night/Thursday AM.
  10. Usually about 5 LH closers at a time...Wagner, Fuentes, TOR guy whose name slips my mind, must be 1 or 2 more.
  11. Suspended 6 games. Selfish acts do not go over well with the team.
  12. After 15 years in retail, I've been an insurance agent for a year now.
  13. Got mine the other day, and i used Turbotax. They did not withhold it even though they say I owe thousands from 2006.
  14. I'm guessing Doug would talk to SD about a trade, because the Padres seem to like him a lot more than the Crew did. With those veteran minor leaguers, they usually do what they can to put them in a good spot.
  15. I just never studied, as I was working 35-70 hours a week through almost all of college...sure my GPA went down every semester, but...
  16. I've been chased by a fox in a dream I've probably had 500 times since I was little. I've also had a dream that it's late in the semester and I forgot to drop a class or two once a month the last decade plus.
  17. Don't hit desks.
  18. His career road ERA is 4.51, and at 32, he won't be expected to be better or healthier. Is that worth $11.5M? I'd say maybe for one year, but again, that's a lot of risk over 3 seasons.
  19. Some guys turn themselves into prospects, Steve Bray maybe. Chuck Crim. But for the most part, A ball teams are a couple prospects, 3-4 maybes, and a whole bunch of guys who, while better than 99% of the public, have little chance. That's why worrying about the W/L record of your minor league teams is, at best, overreaction. No one cares if your guys who will be out of baseball are better than the other guys who will be out of baseball.
  20. But, strange campaigns work. People discussing it will lead to interest peaking when the secret is out. Marketing isn't complex, but people waste a lot of money on it too. Even though many people will ignore this, many will get all into it and more than make up for the others. We live in a world where a 2% return on junk mail is very good, and cable channels are thrilled they get a 0.2 rating. Results that used to be considered failures are now resume builders.
  21. The energy drinks are just a short-term fix. As i said months ago, if you are not getting regular sleep through a schedule that makes sense, you are going to have plenty of bad days.
  22. Vazquez is a nice pitcher, I just don't see them going after a guy with 3y left on his deal, as there will likely be plenty of 2 month rentals and 1 year, 2 month guys.
  23. You know, pretty much every team has a player that doesn't hit all that much every season. Picking on role players who were stopgaps, like Gerald Williams and Franklin Stubbs, as if they were once stars? Sorta weak.
  24. Too long for Doug to consider Vazquez. 3 years is a serious injury, rehab, and then another 1.5 years.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. If Ford can hit at all, his speed should get him a job as a 5th OF for a few years...but right now, his bat won't get him there, except as a Mel Stocker type.
