  1. Nope, no clamps, and nothing appears to have been there. It's an older Advantis Fiesta grill, it was my parent-in-laws and they gave it to us when they got a new one, rather than throwing it out. I had always had no interest, preferring charcoal. However, the quickness and ease factor means we use it about 90% of the time. I just showed my wife, and the tubes now appear to be well on, over an inch, I couldn't even pull them off to show her how they were. We think they might have vibrated off when I used the snowblower on the deck.
  2. What FTJ said. Very well done. As for a "rivalry", it's a rivalry for Brewers' fans, but for the Cubs, the Cardinals are much bigger. The Crew is local, so Chicago fans can travel thee, but they do that with Cincy as well. Many Cubs' fans come to Miller Park because it's closer, easier to get tickets, able to avoid traffic, and so on. I welcome them and their cash, now at the marquee level.
  3. While grilling this year, my gas grill has not worked very well. Last night, I grilled kind of late compared to usual, and it was getting dark, I noticed why...the metal tubes that take the gas to the burners was barely on, and fire was coming out of them, almost to the ground. I shut the gas off and finished the food inside. Now this AM, I walked out and studied it. Both metal things were loose, but I just hooked them on and now they seem fine. Are they supposed to be attached somehow, or do they usually just sit on there like that? This is the only gas grill I've ever had, so I have no clue.
  4. I find it ironic the constant disgust at Cubs' fans in Miller Park and an ongoing call for Brewers' fans to go to Wrigley Field. Hey, do what you want, but save the dramatics...it's a baseball game.
  5. Johhny Rockets in the food court is really good. There's also a State Fair place that has very unhealthy foods we all love.
  6. Dillon certainly is not a bad reserve 1B, especially for the Crew, as he bats RH.
  7. Think we'll have a time when no P's are on the DL? Most teams have 2+ at all times. I'm certainly not rooting for injuries, but with Vargas and McClung, there are two guys with value who are not in the top 12, and both have value.
  8. Soaking it would not hurt, and may help many a minor injury.
  9. If it's been a year, how serious can it be?
  10. The Astros benched Biggio to move on about a year and a half too late last year. Any wonder what took them so long defines what a rudderless organization they are. Good luck Coop...I'm afraid you'll need it.
  11. Well, for us conspiracy lovers, that's a mighty boring explanation...so I'll just make something up.
  12. The amount of people that go to a Apple-ton game in a season is about a weekend at MP. There may be some slight overlap (I would assume the Beloit Brewers may have stolen 10-50 fans some nights), but for the most part, things like the Northwoods League and such will experience higher attendance if the Crew is going good and vice versa. I think it would be good for many reasons, but in the grand scheme of things, extremely minor.
  13. If they miss the entire year, a player will likely get a smallish increase, as they still have another year of experience.
  14. I have to disagree with Danzig, I think cheaper cuts of steak taste better, but they are not as tender, usually. That's why you need to beat them up and then marinade them, to tenderize. I hardly ever buy anything but round steak.
  15. I've never known anyone to not make 'em in the microwave.
  16. I marinade with worchestire sauce, mustard, and some standard BBQ sauce, not a whole lot of each. Marinade overnight, 48 hours is even better. I then sprinkle with Al's rub, which is really just garlic powder, rotissiere chicken seasoning, and a few of my other favorites in a spice jar. Works good on burgers, steak, chicken, whatever. I'm off red meat for the most part now, but I did enjoy a steak Saturday. As for chicken, we have used catalina, italian, and ranch dressings, and they all add a lot of zip id use let it work in for 48 hours. I grilled wings all summer, I use sugar-free BBQ sauce to keep 'em from burning too much, just a blackened wing is what I prefer. Just keep brushing them with sauce, from the minute they go on to the minute they come off.
  17. That would be great for many of us, but the Crew seems happy to have their team out of the Upper Midwest, as they usually get in abut 10 more games and they don't have to avoid some pitchers in the cold weather. I bet FSN might even broadcast a few games if they did play in Apple-ton.
  18. Yep, they will release tickets from unsold groups and season ticket packages at some point...though they often offer them to season ticket holders first. I'd just check the website several times a day...that's your best bet.
  19. His projections are outstanding, though he is unlikely to ever play versus LHP's. He is a very good reserve, without a doubt.
  20. McClung will never clear waivers, as he throws 98.
  21. White
  22. As pointed out earlier, if you worked for the 3 days instead of waiting in line, you can easily afford to buy a ticket from the resellers. Not for me, but I guess if you wish to be on TV, it might be your shot.
  23. Mota is almost certainly on the team. The Crew picked him out of 7 names, they wanted him badly. Doug loves hard throwing, big RH's.
  24. I think that it just has a single controller, JN.
