    Yes, you do lose the DH. The new RF would have to be placed in the DH spot in the order.

    Towers, depending on his contract, might boost the bullpen, he'd at least be ok to give multiple innings and throws strikes. If he's a Fa after '07, I'd talk to TOR.

    Peavey, I read that in a book about Lasorda as well. I cannot recall which one, but I've thought of him as a total loser just like Joe since. He's a bigot, and it was against his own son...that's pretty bad.

    It would be nice if someone, hopefully the Rockies, match every donation. As sad as it is, I also hope it goes without saying they will cover the cost of Coolbaugh family's insurance for a year or so.

    Shouse getting axed is about as unlikely as Braun being sent down. Shouse would have a ton of value if he were on the market, he's got a 2.50 ERA and a 1ish WHIP.

    As a stopgap LH reliever, he'd be fine. The A's would probably not ask for much either.

    As Brett said, why would SEA trade a pre-arby guy who can hit? He can be a backup for a couple years, at $350K.

    I would assume they'll do the "reserve tiks for 2008" after they do not have 20 games left at home anymore, or close to it.

    Corey is on the DL, so he would get a full playoff share, I guarantee it.

    Gross is an athletic guy who is a solid bench guy, and would probably platoon fine. Nelson is not athletic and does not project as well. I'd say his ceiling is Mark Sweeney...as is about 50 other LH OF's in AAA.

    Jenkins for Castillo would weaken the Crew immensely. I'm not sure what possible benefit it would be adding a 700 OPS guy and losing an 850 one.

    You can get a Ryder or U-haul for $20 plus miles, especially just for the day.

    He'd be fine if we did not give up much, but he is in the midst of a career campaign, it would appear.

    It's safe to assume a couple still have an option. Most have a limited ceiling as well, Sarfate has fallen apart this year, and all the OF's project as reserves.

    I've seen 89-93 from Grant...but he might have hit 94.

    It's tough listening to an animal in pain, and to be honest, $200 seems pretty reasonable considering 2 X-rays. That said, I would have probably waited a day or two, unless it was obviously broken or dislocated. Our dog has had a sore foot or leg several times, and it always is fine within a couple days.

    The Suns have a nucleus and needed cap room. Their 1st round picks will be between 20 and 30...calling them 1st round picks are almost incorrect...they gave one away this year, for cash. I think any team would have made that trade, but maybe PHO was talking to SEA about him before, and it expanded.
