  1. Oof. Weeks > Cano, or at least his potential is. Sheets is a star, if healthy, and Melky is a nice prospect. I'd say no.
  2. Even if Hall put up ARod numbers, some would still want him to back up Hardy. ARod is only what, 2-3 years older than Hall? I'd do the deal, without hesitation.
  3. Sarfate pitched well in AAA and in the bigs, he'll get every chance. I can't believe either of the other two are with the team next April, and likely not in Maryvale. They'll be thrown into other trades, ala Gabe Gross was in our case in the TOR deal.
  4. Escobar will be added, he would fit in nicely as a PR somewhere to be hidden like E. Cruz was.
  5. But why would I want to represent a country I have no relation to, other than my ancestors? I guess I just don't get it.
  6. Xmas stuff is out because it sells. People complain, then buy it.
  7. I simply have no clue why Americans would have any interest in playing for another country's baseball team. I believe my grandpa was born in Germany...should I go there if they'd let me play 2B?
  8. They would have to clear waivers if they do not make the team next April, if claimed, the new team would have to place them on the 25 man. I believe they have the right to be a free agent, which they would most certainly take. Dennis' dad would know this, I assume.
  9. I doubt the Crew insures a guy like Koskie, we're only paying him $2M.
  10. Why don't I know Andrew Beattie? Koonce may well retire. I'd like to keep Lehr, Zumwalt, and Simpson; maybe Abernathy/Sorenson as well. Mark Johnson would be a nice AAA C as well, but I believe he has said he is done. Valentine is the one "for sure" guy.
  11. There are very few successful RHP's under 6-0 tall...that's a fact.
  12. The weather and the facilities seem to be what the Crew is concerned about.
  13. I'll start having to wear pants instead of shorts soon, even worse when it's time to break out jackets. How often places i go out to eat at can't seem to grasp that asking for no onions in my food means i don't want onions in my food. I love onions on almost everything. I just put some on my mac and cheese a couple nights ago. They discussed the shorts thing on KQ radio years ago when I lived in the Cities. Many people called in and said that, like myself, they'd wear shorts all year if people would simply accept that fact. But, due to the social interaction, they stopped wearing them in the cold. I used to walk the dog late at night in shorts despite cold and snow. I, and many callers, couldn't figure out why ladies can wear skirts all year, but guys can't wear shorts.
  14. If Mark A decided he wanted the Crew's low A team in Apple-ton, it'd get done. However, I doubt it's near the top of his list. Remember, Doug did say the Midwest League was basically a 125 game season due to the weather, so it is probable the team feels it isn't worth it.
  15. Yep, that's a good thing. It might cost Nashville a win, but I'll happily trade that for Vinny getting time as a C.

  17. Bray has worked his way into minor prospect status, quite an achievement for a guy taken in the minor league Rule 5. He could be a Mike Adams type.
  18. It's tough for me to consider Drew A much of a prospect when he isn't much younger than Nix, who many consider to be "washed up".

  20. I recall the old Madison Muskies used to often give a pitcher a start and then release him, almost as a goodbye/thank you/here's a chance for a scout to see you type of thing. It happened consistently enough that it wasn't a fluke. Probably just a kid signed to catch the oodles of pitchers they have and they put him in a game because they knew he was gone.

  22. What's the estimate of Mike Jones' number of options remaining?
  23. I can't believe Krynzel will be there, he's well down on the prospect scale these days.
  24. Looks bad, but doesn't affect the operations.
